Women Leaders in Tech Outpace Men Counterparts in Generative AI Adoption The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report reveals that women in the tech industry are adopting Generative AI (GenAI) tools at similar or slightly higher rates than their male counterparts. The report is based on a survey of over 6,500 employees across five countries. While women have historically been slower to adopt new technologies, they now appear to be on par or leading in GenAI usage, with 68% of women using GenAI tools more than once a week, compared to 66% of men. Likely Reasons for the Disparity Women in tech are adopting Generative AI at similar or higher rates than men due to increased access to resources, industry efforts to close gender gaps, and the growing necessity of AI tools for career advancement and productivity. These factors have helped women stay competitive and engaged with cutting-edge technologies like GenAI. #WomenInTech #GenerativeAI #TechInnovation #AIAdoption #WomenLeaders https://lnkd.in/gfQ5JKsC

Gender and seniority differences in Gen AI adoption in Tech sector. Interesting study from BCG. Summary here: A global survey finds that senior women in technical functions are ahead of their men peers in adopting GenAI—but junior women are lagging behind. Three key attributes correlate with gender disparities in GenAI adoption: awareness of GenAI’s criticality to job success, confidence in GenAI skills, and risk tolerance for using GenAI prior to having a company policy. If the number of senior and junior women with GenAI skills increases, then it’s likely that women’s representation in tech leadership will grow. Companies that are ready to pilot and scale GenAI should address the gaps in attributes via leadership advocacy and change management, highly targeted upskilling programs, and robust pilot design.

Pioneering Women in GenAI ?? The GenAI Revolution: The tech industry is rapidly evolving with Generative AI (GenAI), and it’s estimated that 46% of workers will need reskilling in the next three years. Women leaders in tech are at the forefront, shaping the future of GenAI. Despite historical trends, women in tech are adopting GenAI at rates comparable to their male peers. Senior women in technical roles are even leading the charge, using GenAI tools more frequently than men. The article Women Leaders in Tech Are Paving the Way in GenAI highlights the importance of awareness, confidence in GenAI skills, and risk tolerance as key factors influencing GenAI adoption. It suggests companies must support women professionals in addressing these areas and promote gender equity in tech (like my company, Encora, does). Companies must implement targeted upskilling programs, robust pilot designs, and clear AI policies. The report suggests that women can also take proactive steps by engaging with GenAI and seeking leadership roles.
