Today we at commercetools are formally dropping the word "platform." We are not and never have been a platform - we're a set of unopinionated APIs. We've called ourselves a platform because that's what the category has been called since the 1990's. The market has finally caught up to the point where we can drop the term "platform" and people know what we're talking about. In https://lnkd.in/dTc47nNx, I talk more about what a platform is and why we're not one and never have been. Our flagship commerce product is now called "commercetools Composable Commerce" and its matching frontend (fka Frontastic) is now called "commercetools Frontend." We'll roll out this new branding over the coming weeks.
Makes sense! Cngrats!

but what if I like my APIs opinionated?
Unopinionated. Not sure that’s a fitting adjective for Commercetools. I’ve been to a few un-conferences before. Hope shoptalk is a blast.
