Honoring Veterans on Veterans Day Today, we take a moment to honor the dedication and sacrifices made by the men and women who have served in our armed forces. Here are a few unique facts that remind us of the incredible contributions of our veterans: ?? A Legacy of Service: Veterans Day originated as "Armistice Day" in 1919, marking the end of WWI. By 1954, it became the Veterans Day we know today, a time to honor veterans of all conflicts. ???? Leaders and Problem-Solvers: Did you know? Veterans make up 10% of all U.S. business owners. Their leadership skills and work ethic often translate into successful ventures that benefit communities across the nation. ?? Continued Dedication to Service: Veterans remain active in their communities after active duty. Statistics show that veterans are 30% more likely to volunteer, proving that their commitment to helping others never fades. ??? Continuous Vigilance: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery has been guarded continuously since 1937, a powerful symbol of commitment and respect. Today, let's celebrate and thank our veterans for their bravery, integrity, and dedication, which inspire us all. #VeteransDay #HonoringService #Gratitude

Veterans Day is a day of deep significance, honoring the courage and dedication of those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. It is a moment to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by individuals who put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we enjoy as a country. As a retired First Sergeant (1SG), this day is especially meaningful, as it reminds me of the countless brothers and sisters I served alongside – men and women whose strength, resilience, and commitment created bonds that are unbreakable and lasting. The bonds formed in service run deeper than words; they are forged in shared challenges, triumphs, and moments of vulnerability, creating a family that extends far beyond the uniform; a family for life.? Veterans Day is not just a commemoration; it is a testament to the loyalty, unity, and resilience that define service to our country. ? To me, Veterans Day holds immense importance as it embodies gratitude and remembrance, a chance to honor those who served and those who continue to serve. It’s a day that reinforces the sense of family forged through shared challenges and triumphs; a bond that remains even after the uniform is set aside. It is a moment to honor their stories, reflect on our shared legacy, and reaffirm that our commitment to each other and to this country endures beyond the uniform. This day celebrates the bonds of a family that service creates – one marked by loyalty, trust, and a deep, unyielding respect. Veterans Day is a reminder that our commitment to each other and to the values we defended is lifelong, symbolizing respect, appreciation, and an enduring pledge to never forget. ? 11 | 11 | 2024 – Veterans Day #veteransday #leadership #legacy #service #servantleadership #loyalty #duty #respect #selflessservice #honor #integrity #personalcourage

On Veterans Day, we reflect on a profound truth: service comes in many forms, but military service stands apart. They say a Veteran is someone who once handed their country a blank check, payable with their very life. This isn't just a powerful metaphor - it's the reality of military service. Every man and woman who puts on the uniform makes this extraordinary commitment, whether serving four years or thirty, in times of peace or war. What makes this service unique? It's the absolute nature of their commitment. Veterans don't choose their assignments or set their terms. They go where needed, serve who needs them, and sacrifice without question. They put aside careers, leave families behind, and suspend personal dreams for a greater purpose. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) While we call them heroes, many Veterans humbly point to their fallen comrades as the true heroes - those who paid the ultimate price. Yet today, we honor all who served, because each one embodied the same spirit of selfless dedication. At Serve Funding, their example of service inspires our own mission to serve our clients and partners. This Veterans Day, we encourage you to not only thank a Veteran but to follow their example: set aside your own agenda and find a way to serve someone in need. - Michael Kodinsky #VeteransDay #VeteransDay2024 #HereToServe #Sacrifice #ServantLeadership

???? Honoring Veterans Day with Purpose and Legacy This weekend, we honor the service members among us and pay respect to their sacrifices. As a Marine veteran, a husband, and a father, Veterans Day holds a unique meaning for me. When I first left the Marines in 2007, I didn’t want to be recognized as a veteran. To many of us, service isn’t a badge of honor—it’s just a part of our past. Yet, no matter how far behind us it seems, the questions remain: Did it matter? And why? For me, service mattered because it strengthened us to live better, fuller lives—to become better parents, partners, and human beings. Veterans carry a complex toolbox of experiences, each one shaping us in ways we may not yet fully understand. Many veterans come home but, in some ways, never truly feel home. Instead of “thank you for your service,” consider saying, “Welcome home.” Those words might be the first step in their journey back to their family, and back to themselves. For me, being a veteran is about using the tools my service gave me to build a life worthy of those who didn’t make it back. It’s about creating a legacy, a family so strong it makes its own mark. As Steve Jobs said, “We are here to put a dent in the universe.” My hope is that, someday, people will see that dent and know it was left by the Killoy's. On this Veterans Day, I challenge you to see veterans as an inspiration for the life and legacy you want to create—a life filled with adventure, depth, community, and family. Build something that reaches beyond your years and well beyond the years of service we give. This is how we honor veterans on Veterans Day. Ben Killoy?? As a proud Military Veteran, I want to take this moment on Veteran's Day to honor the 18 million living U.S. military veterans. These exceptional men and women, representing roughly 5% of the U.S. population, are part of an elite and selfless group who willingly volunteered to step into harm’s way so others could remain safe. Veterans come from every background, each bringing a unique set of experiences, strengths, and perspectives shaped by service and sacrifice. They volunteered to put duty above self, and in doing so, they gave the rest of us the freedom to pursue our careers, raise our families, and live our lives. When they transitioned back into civilian life, many of them faced, and in some cases continue to face, new sets of challenges—the cultural shift to Corporate America. Navigating the language of business, adjusting to new workplace dynamics, and building professional networks are hurdles they know all too well. It’s not always easy, and it’s not always seamless. Today, let’s not only thank Veterans for their service but recognize the dedication they bring to every role they take on and the responsibility we have to help them make a full and healthy transition. Let’s support Veterans as they continue to grow, adapt, and lead in the business world—because the qualities that made them outstanding service members make them invaluable colleagues, mentors, and leaders in every industry. Thank you, Veterans. We owe you our respect, our support, and our gratitude every day. #VeteransDay #ThankYouVeterans #MilitaryToCivilian #VeteransInBusiness #VeteranLeadership #ServiceAndSacrifice #VeteranTransition #CorporateLeadership #GratefulNation #HireAVeteran #VeteranEmpowerment
