SAU 29 is inspiring and empowering every student to succeed, and our five year Strategic plan charts how to achieve this vision. It's a living guide built with community input that paints a portrait of what every one of our students will acquire in our schools and how will help them do it. This video will share how we built this plan with the help of our communities. A portrait of a SAU 29 graduate, our new mission statement, and the four discrete. Polls will pursue to measure our success. Charting A5 year Strategic Plan took its own year of foundational planning, community input, and visioning. We started in June 2023 creating a strategic planning committee that included students, educators, parents, board members, and community partners. We then took the fall of 2023 to gather input from community members and synthesize their feedback into broad themes using this feedback. Drafted a portrait of a Graduate The vision of what every SAU 29 learner should become. SAU 29 graduates should be career and life ready, critical thinkers, effective communicators, individually and socially aware and caring local and global contributors to paint this portrait. We also articulated our mission to provide a high quality, meaningful and relevant education for all by fostering the development of the whole student by providing multiple opportunities. Pathways to Success nurturing talented and dedicated educators, providing each individual the opportunity to be recognized, take risks and learn, and a safe, positive and inclusive environment, and integrating transparent and consistent communication as well as partnering with our families and community. Then in Spring 2024, we develop strategies and actions with time bound, actionable and measurable goals to meet for the shared growth of our students. Educators and communities Key goal number one of SAU 29 strategic plan is opportunities, access and pathways. We believe in ensuring all students can achieve academically by fostering the development of the whole student, providing varied opportunities and creating multiple pathways. Here are some examples of how we'll know we've been successful by increasing proficiency rates in every grade K through 12 every year, increasing attendance in every grade K through 12. Every year, and by attaining a graduation rate above 90%, each of our schools are developing detailed scorecards to monitor progress in achieving these goals. By focusing on ensuring equitable opportunities for all students, expanding learning opportunities between disciplines and with our communities, and by implementing an authentic, relevant and responsive curriculum that allows every student to demonstrate proficiency in the competencies they've acquired in our schools. Key goal #2 of SAU 29 Strategic Plan is nurturing high quality educators. We believe when we hire, invest in, value and retain dedicated and qualified educators, we foster student success. Here are some examples of how we'll know we've been successful by increasing educator retention, increasing satisfaction which we measure through our employee culture and climate survey, increasing participation in individualized professional development, and by maintaining or increasing the percentage of overall performance. Our educators to satisfactory levels or higher at all of our schools. Each of our schools are developing detailed scorecards to monitor progress in achieving these goals by focusing on creating a positive school culture, providing professional development, offering competitive salaries, and strengthening and formalizing mentoring programs. Key goal #3 of SAU 29 Strategic plan is safe, positive and inclusive environments. We believe each person deserves the opportunity to be recognized. Take risks and learn in a supportive environment. Here are some examples of how we'll know we've been successful. By increasing participation by families who've historically not participated or historically been marginalized. By improving our students sense of safety measured by the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. By increasing a sense of belonging and voice of everyone involved in our schools, from students to staff to families, and by decreasing truancy and discipline incidents. Each of our schools are developing detailed scorecards. Monitor progress in achieving these goals by focusing on evaluating and developing new structures to Orient, welcome and give voice to all families, students, and staff in our communities. Curriculum that pursues and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging and by creating and maintaining safe environments for all students and staff. Key goal #4 of SAU 29 Strategic plan is partnerships and outreach for learning. We believe in partnering with our families. Community and support of student learning by using consistent, transparent communication and outreach through multiple platforms here are some examples of how we'll know. We've been successful by increasing the understanding of school events and the accessibility of information measured in our school culture and climate surveys, and by increasing participation in all of our schools events and activities. Each of our schools are developing detailed scorecards to monitor progress in achieving these goals by focusing on increasing the ways. Community members can access our information and communications, hosting events to build community and interest in our schools that increases engagement by all and by promoting meaningful partnerships in our communities to enhance student learning. This is how SAU 29 is inspiring and empowering every student to succeed. Our strategic plan is not a document or a poster on the wall. This living guide should evolve and grow, always reflecting our shared growth as students.
