The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) framework designed to ensure that contractors adhere to specific cybersecurity standards to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI). The CMMC aims to establish a unified standard for implementing cybersecurity across the defense industrial base (DIB), ensuring that contractors can effectively safeguard sensitive data against increasing cyber threats.
