With a new school year beginning, pre-med students should be setting themselves up to submit their best medical school applications come spring. In that spirit, we're sharing our first-party data on admissions trends. Every year we survey medical school admissions officers throughout the country to get their latest insights, and these are our most notable findings: - A low MCAT score is the biggest deal breaker in the primary application, followed next by lack of clinical experience and then low GPA - Committees want students to look at the application in a holistic manner and show their passion for medicine - “Using a holistic review process, we want to not only see metrics and experiences but also want to get an idea of the student’s personality and drive to be a physician.” - Half of all admissions officers stated that they are in the process of discussing and developing an AI use policy - Some are even using technology to identify AI usage in essays - More than two-thirds believe that what is posted on social media is “fair game” to help make admissions decisions To work with an admissions expert and navigate all of these nuances, we're happy to offer students Medical School Admissions Consulting: https://lnkd.in/g29Fngfs [Admissions officers from accredited medical schools across North America were polled by phone and e-mail between August and December 2023.]

Every action has a +ve & a -ve impact on ground. Increased no. of medical college, wd produce graduates 5/6 yrs from now. But today the increase has lead to scarcity in faculty & increase in payouts 2specific faculty positions. Impact on academic delivery wd also b worth studying. The increase in payouts may have lead to strains on the financial management of a medical college. This becomes more pronounced if the fee structure doesn’t reflect the changes in payouts to the staff in medical colleges. The key word is “may”! This especially creates issues with new colleges & colleges which are off the track & are having to pay more to attract talent which may ensure right academic delivery. So, increasing the number of medical colleges is absolutely fantastic, a great noble goal for long term benefit. But the short term impact should be managed well to ensure a smooth sailing in the intervening period. Just a thought based on experience out of interaction with various medical colleges & faculty members!! Any divergent perspectives welcome ??
