War reporters risk their lives to document conflict. And yet, after a career living on battlefields, Sebastian Junger's closest brush with death was surviving an aneurysm. Sebastian's story of his sudden internal hemorrhage and making sense of what he saw while dying is the subject of his new book?"In My Time of Dying".?As someone who usually writes as an outside observer, it's an atypical and personal exploration of death. I was privileged to speak with Sebastian about the fragility of life and why being necessary to others is one of our highest needs of all. It's a profound realization when faced with a near-death experience or witnessing it through a loved one. Some choose to remain unchanged, clinging to old habits that no longer serve them. It's easier to blame external factors than to acknowledge our role as creators of our own lives. Reflecting on our actions and the energy we bring can lead to personal growth and joy. Life is not a rehearsal; there's no better time than now to make a positive change. #SelfReflection #PersonalGrowth #LiveLifeFully Simon Sinek

Father shapes three main things for the daughter - self-image, confidence, and her relationships with men. While the mother cultivates a daughter’s intuition, emotional life and creativity, the father is about external goals for the daughter. That is why he is an important role model to shape her sense of self and confidence to be out in the world. By feeling secure in the father-daughter relationship, she is able to feel secure in her goals in life. While there are always exceptions and the relationship is complex, you can begin to understand where you get your sense of external power from by examining your early life relationship with your father. Listen to our newest podcast, “How Fathers Shape a Woman’s Self-Worth” where we explore the impact of the “Father’s Gaze” and how you can reclaim your sense of power in the world even if you had a difficult Father-Daughter relationship - click here to listen: https://hubs.la/Q02X-pRp0

Have you wondered, "Are younger generations less racist than older ones?" If so, you should check out the EmbraceRace podcast, which counter myths about race and kids and lay out what we know about? How Kids ACTUALLY Learn About Race. https://lnkd.in/gEGw7P5G Side note: If you're a podcaster, I highly recommend you learn from the creators of Embrace Race, Melissa Giraud and Andrew Grant-Thomas (he, him). They set up their interviews really well (pre-work to help the interviewer show up as their best self), execute (clean episode), then provide tools for their listeners to reflect, engage, and take steps forward (see website) with what they've heard.
