It was so much fun to lead this dApp Development workshop! When we learned the Polygon faucets were down (??), it was a great opportunity to troubleshoot live with the Fellows and talk through solutions together. In fact, with workshops like this, it's often less about learning the technologies and more about learning persistence, resourcefulness, and models for just getting started. It's so fun to see people finish the workshops not only proud of what they've built, but also surprised by how simple the blockchain integration was. This is especially why I love tools like Remix and Pinata, which make smart contract deployment and IPFS pinning super easy and beginner-friendly. Thank you to all the KBF Fellows who went through this workshop with us! You all are building amazing things, and it's an honor to be a part of the team supporting your journey. Day 24 of #365DaysOfCode – Talking to the Blockchain with Web3.js When I first started with blockchain development, interacting with smart contracts felt like magic—send a transaction, and boom! The blockchain updates. But today, I took a deep dive into Web3.js, the library that makes this interaction seamless. With just a few lines of code, I queried a contract to get the current block number and even retrieved a contract’s name. This might sound simple, but it’s a fundamental step in building dApps, DeFi platforms, and NFT marketplaces. What I Learned: -How to connect to Ethereum nodes using Web3.js -Querying smart contracts for on-chain data -Fetching real-time blockchain information Oh, and about yesterday… I’ve got something BIG in the works.
