Revideo (YC S23)'s v0.3.0 is out! Here’s what’s new: ?? Rendering jobs can now be parallelized across multiple workers! This makes it possible to significantly speed up video exports, especially when you have access to beefy hardware ?? We’ve made Revideo’s logs a lot cleaner to help you understand what’s going on in your Revideo app - you can now see see the progress of your video export when calling renderVideo(), and we have removed distracting ffmpeg outputs from your logs. ?? We’ve added support for transparent videos. This is cool for a variety of use cases, for example if you want to add an AI avatar to your video. In the video below, you can see an example Revideo project that uses the Synthesia API to add an avatar. As always, this example is available on Github (link in the first comment) ?? Lastly, bug fixes - we’re working hard to make sure that Revideo remains stable and ready for production What’s next: During conversations with our users, it became clear that many of them want to use Revideo to integrate small video editors into their products. While this has already been possible so far, Konstantin has started to build some of the features that are necessary to make things even easier, starting with a player component that is much more flexible and easier to customize. Congrats to my team, who developed a cool feature that allows Alokai Console users to see performance insights for their storefronts after each deployment. Technically, we used Google Cloud Pub/Sub as a messaging service that receives Kubernetes events and pushes them to our backend services. Then, we run performance audits, and our users can see insights and comparisons to the previous audit in Alokai (previously Vue Storefront) Console. #Cloud #GoogleCloud

Can a simple word change make users think there's a whole new feature? ?? This is what happened when we tweaked KnowledgeOwl nav bar. Sometimes, the smallest changes make a huge difference in user experience. We recently updated the KnowledgeOwl admin bar, and let’s just say… users noticed. Here's what we did: ? Moved the nav bar The old nav bar was positioned at the bottom so it was easy to overlook. We moved it to the top—now it’s the first things users see. ? Added icons to make them look more like actions The buttons were text-only so users weren’t sure what was clickable. We added icons to make actions stand out. ? Rewrote labels to improve clarity Users were confused by the "Change Reader Groups" button so we changed it to "View as". Suddenly, the users thought we added a brand-new feature! One user told us "... the new View As option is amazing! This makes using KO so much better!” (even though this feature has been there for over a year now) This tweak helped users discover value they didn’t know was there. Takeaway ?? Small but thoughtful tweaks can make users find new value in your product—with no big updates on your end. What’s the smallest change you’ve made that led to big results?

Imagine that your performance has dropped significantly after multiple releases. Now, you want to fix it, but the amount of code you have to browse through to find the cause of the performance drops is huge. You spend days on browsing the repository and trying to identify what needs to be improved to get the performance back on track. A small but useful feature recently added to Alokai Console is automated performance audits after each deployment. When a developer makes a deployment with Alokai Console, on the first page, they now see: ?? What was the impact of it on the page performance ?? How it compares to previous deployments ?? Can quickly access the release commit with a link This way, instead of looking for the root cause and its impact, they immediately jump into fixing the right things. Built another concept micro-saas app that RAPIDLY helps you visualize data. 80%+ faster than Excel. bolt.new is one of my favorite prototyping tools and they just got funding to grow so I hope to see pre-programmed modules to just plug and play into concepts. (Like Authentication, Databases etc.) What this app does is allows you to paste data from sources and it uses AI to determine the best charts to use and then generates them for you automatically. Then you can download the chart image OR build it in Excel or Google Sheets and provides you instructions on how to do so quickly. This was a fun one to do.

How did #Ai help you today? I used AI?to help develop a web app that aggregates job board data from multiple sources through an API and presents it in a quick and intuitive interface. We (the Ai and I) developed this with #React and #TailwindCSS . The goal is to simplify the #job #search process for users in Sweden.
