Our team was energized this weekend by the first ever 5K for Justice, a fabulous event organized by our friends and partners at the Brazilian Worker Center. Kudos to the leadership of BWC Executive Director Lenita Reason, BWC member Alexandre Sim?es who envisioned and led the organizing of the event, and the entire team who pulled off an impressive community-building event that we hope to see again in the future. We hope to see you there next year!

A great video from the We're Right Here campaign; community leaders are ALWAYS in touch with their local communities. Community leaders don't just pound the pavements in the run up to an election. They put the miles in, they put the time in, they know what they're talking about. We're Right Here (and I) believe that people should have the power to shape their places and that communities should have the rights and tools they need to come together and take control of their own futures. Follow this link for a super clear list of actions you can take to support their call for community power ?? https://lnkd.in/euMAVCPp It includes things like: ?? A template letter for your local MPs ?? A conversation guide ?? A leaflet you can download and print So much really helpful stuff! ?? https://lnkd.in/eK-25J5H #CommunityPower #KeepitLocal #CommunityLeadership

Great interview Karen MacNeil ?? Wine as a Global Force ?? From health benefits to economic boosts, leaders around the world have long acknowledged the importance of wine to society. Here’s a look at some notable reflections: 1. "Wine is part of our civilization. It plays an economic role, a cultural role, and a social role." – Emmanuel Macron, President of France France’s leader reminds us that wine is more than a beverage; it’s a cultural icon and economic asset. From employment in vineyards to the export market, wine adds significant value worldwide. 2. "Good wine is a necessity of life for me." – Thomas Jefferson, Former U.S. President For centuries, wine has held a central place in our daily lives, celebrated for its role in both health and hospitality. 3. "Wine can be a powerful unifier, bringing people together across borders and cultures." – Giuseppe Conte, Former Prime Minister of Italy Beyond national pride, wine fosters international camaraderie. With a presence in every corner of the globe, it’s a product that bridges cultures and creates shared experiences. 4. "In wine, we find not only pleasure but a tool for economic resilience." – Maria Reyes Maroto, Spanish Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism The wine industry generates billions in revenue, supports tourism, and creates jobs across the entire production line—from vineyard workers to sommeliers. Whether you’re a casual enthusiast or a professional in the industry, let’s celebrate the way wine continues to shape our world economically, socially, and culturally. #WineEconomy #GlobalTrade #CulturalHeritage #LinkedInCommunity

I’m not being a hater. Let’s have a serious discussion: Why does any Institution of Higher Education feel that having alums who are delegates to a Political Convention is newsworthy? THERE IS NO PURPOSE! That university is trying to engage in DEMOCRAT PARTY GOTV efforts. Their federal funding should be CUT! There are probably 50 Carolina alums who are delegates. A&T has several delegates and you don’t see their University promoting such a common occurrence. I encourage the Administration at NCCU to stay out of politics and focus on fundraising (which last I read, was quite pathetic). Get some of your alums to stop buying BMWs and give you $100 and perhaps we wouldn’t have to utilize so much of our tax dollars on landscaping over in Durham. Black Institutions must stop playing SMALL BALL. This type of BUSHLEAGUE activity is why Blacks as myself, who took Honors and AP courses and excelled DO NOT EVEN APPLY TO THESE SCHOOLS. #GlorifiedHighSchoolers #PoliticallyCHEAPpeople ??
#NCCUCommunity | NCCU rising senior Devin Freeman and alumnus Durham Mayor Leo Williams have been selected as delegates for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
