We're trying to help spread the word while keeping things light. ?? ?? Just Zero's Communications Associate here! As someone new to the environmental space, working at Just Zero has taught me so much! I'm actively making changes to protect not only the health of the planet but also my own. For example, I’m cutting out toxic clothes made of synthetic fibers (did you know your skin absorbs the chemicals in your clothes?! ??). I'm also boycotting stores like Walmart, H&M, other fast fashion brands, and Amazon. Target is still a work in progress — but I’m trying my best! (Houston, TX doesn’t have too many alternatives ??). But really, it feels amazing to do my part. ???? Consuming less, making more intentional choices, and hitting corporations where it counts makes me feel like I actually have some control over the waste and climate crisis. Boycotts work! Just look at the 1970 Nestlé boycott — with collective persistence, we CAN make a difference. ???? Whenever possible, put your dollars into local businesses first. Prioritize small, thrift, and secondhand shops. And if you have to shop with major brands, choose the ones that actually invest in diversity, equity, and inclusion. ? February 28th is the Economic Blackout. Here’s how you play: no spending whatsoever if you don't have to! That means no gas, groceries, etc! (I know... harsh! But we can do it!) Our solidarity has power — let’s use it. ? Drop a comment! What stores have you stopped supporting? And which ones still have your business? Maybe it’ll inspire others to join in! #standtogether #bethechange
