I still remember the moment I made the decision to switch to studying Public Relations in my second semester of my first year at university. Yes, I switched to Public Relations, and looking back, it remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From a young age, I’ve always been passionate about communication. I’ve always loved expressing myself and connecting with others, and I knew that Public Relations would allow me to explore this passion in ways that felt natural and fulfilling. When I first got into university, I chose to study Journalism. For the first four months, I gave it my all, but deep down, something didn’t feel right. Don’t get me wrong—Journalism is a great field, but for me, it felt limiting. I realized that it didn’t give me the freedom I craved to communicate openly and expressively. Journalism came with boundaries, and I wanted to be able to share my thoughts without restrictions. That’s when I decided to step back, reevaluate my goals, and look into Public Relations instead. The more I learned about Public Relations, the more I felt it was where I belonged. I discovered that it’s not just about managing reputations—it’s about connecting with people, crafting meaningful messages, building strong relationships, and engaging with diverse audiences. It felt so much bigger than I ever imagined. As someone who thrives on communication, I knew I had found my path. For the first time, I felt a sense of completeness, like I was stepping into the world I was meant to be in. Of course, there have been moments of doubt along the way. I’ve questioned my abilities, wondered if I was truly cut out for this field, and even felt uncertain about whether I made the right choice. But every time those doubts creep in, I remind myself why I chose Public Relations in the first place. I chose it because it’s what I love. I chose it because it makes me feel alive, and it’s what gives me purpose. I’m determined to keep going, to pursue what sets my soul on fire.
