Y'all voted and let me know that everyone wants to learn more about working at Hugging Face, so let's start by talking about one of the reasons WHY we are one of the Best Places to Work ?? We communicate differently. Typically, companies manage their external messaging through a select few in the C-suite, aiming for a tightly controlled narrative. At Hugging Face, we've literally flipped that idea upside down. We empower every team member to share openly and publicly, drawing on their unique areas of expertise. Our founders are aware of their strengths (Julien, for example, has exquisite taste in couches), but also acknowledge they're not experts in everything. Not only does this allow us to showcase and celebrate the wins and contributions of every team member but it is also an inherently inclusive approach that supports inputs from varied backgrounds and identities. As Brigitte aptly put it, "our impact is driven by a diversity of voices." When we really listen to and appreciate everyone's input, we make our community stronger and more innovative. This inclusive, open communication culture is one of the aspects I'm most proud of at Hugging Face ??
We didn't need the award to know but we won't complain! If you're thinking of a change this year, you know where to apply ??????

Have you ever stopped to consider the immense impact that genuine recognition can have on your team? In an industry as demanding as senior living and skilled nursing, recognizing the hard work and dedication of our team members is not just a nice-to-have, it's essential. It's about more than just saying good job – it's about acknowledging the challenges they overcome, the compassion they show, and the difference they make in the lives of our residents every single day. So here's a challenge for us all: let's commit to identifying and celebrating at least one specific achievement or quality in a team member each week. Whether it's through a formal recognition program, a personal note, or a shout-out during a team meeting, these moments of appreciation can transform workplace morale. Who will you recognize this week?

I recently finished my semi-annual self-assessment at work and it was refreshing and rewarding to go back and look at the last two I had done. The tonal shift in how I speak to myself and my capabilities was palpable. To steal a line, "I have spent the last year channeling every ounce of imposter syndrome into confidence". Looking back, I see my part in getting to this point: I worked incredibly hard, opened my mind to foreign opportunities and ultimately did whatever I could to support or better myself, my teams and my firm. This being said, I have to respect the foundation that was laid by those above me. I was going to name them all individually, but in doing so there are so many and I would not want anyone to feel omitted. I know they know who they are: these people invested in my personal and professional growth and often times at no benefit to them. Yes, I get that management and team managers have a responsibility to their team to train them effectively but the lengths that these people went extended well beyond job titles and monetary incentive. These people cared and they showed it with their actions. My success in this space to date and to come is rooted in the foundation that these people set from day one. Now I've been making an effort to be a mentor of sorts to a newer resource in our firm. They just celebrated their one year work anniversary. They conveyed their appreciation for me in always being their biggest advocate and hype man and always giving credit when it is due. My response was that the point of having a team is enablement and empowerment. If you're not working to achieve either or both you're not building a very good team or coming close to maximizing potential. They are brilliant in their own right. They don't need me. What's more important to me is that they know I will always be there in the capacity that others were for me. Remember the power of an atmosphere like this. This culture has walked me from consulting infancy to a place of confidence in around two years time. My hope is that others after me will be given the same opportunities I was given and I hope people continue to invest in other people even at times where it may be personally inconvenient. Remember the people you can impact like this in your own lives and work circles. You'll turn out better for it and so will they.

Happy Admin Professionals Month! ?? I don't know about you, but I find it challenging to receive recognition for my work. Being recognized on Admin Professionals Day has always felt a bit awkward to me. How do you prefer your executive and team to recognize you? Is receiving a bouquet of flowers a nice gesture, or do you think it's a bit overdone? Do you remind your executive about Admin Professionals Day approaching? How can we make this little day of recognition better? Share your thoughts in the comments ??
