Yesterday evening, on the 75th anniversary of the founding of ???? , the BARMER Health Partner Summit, themed "Preferred Employers and Employee Health Care," was held at the Barmer regional headquarter in Frankfurt, Germany. At the event, HR leaders and heads of international business from various industries—such as international trade, customs and logistics, biotech, and solar energy—gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by Chinese employers going global. The discussions spanned across multiple dimensions, including talent recruitment, retention, employee services, and enhancing workplace experiences. A Third Party Administrator, Captive, Stop Loss and Vālenz? Health?sat on a stage… I know, it sounds like the start of a joke. In reality, it is a continued partnership in driving change across healthcare by balancing and aligning all parties involved including member, provider, plan, and payor.? Last week I had the chance to join Valenz team members, clients and partners at Sea Island, Georgia for a celebration and reinvigoration for what we are doing for healthcare. During one of our morning sessions?TJ Morrison, Ashley Hull, Andy Willoughby, and Christine Carlson?took the stage to talk about transparency. They discussed how far we‘ve come in the last few years to access and leverage data in decision making and direction of care. They spent far more time discussing how far we still have to go in the effort of supporting members as consumers.? The system isn’t broken, it’s working as designed and we are in the process of redesigning it. Instead of supporting and increasing revenue for organizations we are shifting the approach to better support patients. Empowering members to be consumers like they are in other parts of their life. Solutions are available and always evolving creating ways to leverage the latest data driving quality, improving outcomes and aligning on appropriate costs. Change is needed and change can be hard.
