Interoperability is tough. The industry is making progress, but we're not yet where we need to be. Certified Electronic Health Record Technology ("CEHRT") ensures data is structured in a standard format, which makes it easier to share bidirectionally across platforms. This is foundational to success.
The last thing we want to do is put clinicians in the middle of a tug of war between two technology vendors when the interoperability fails. More accountability for making sure this works as expected, and having a CEHRTified EHR (like Elation) will both be crucial to success in this area.
Listen to this great discuss between Sara Pastoor, MD, MHA, FAAFP and Andrew Talbot - they unpack this topic in terms that a non-technologist can easily understand, and shine a spotlight on the failure modes that are holding us back.
Is your EHR "CEHRTified"?
Interoperability is a crucial component to improve patient care as clinicians exchange health information for patients they share. So why haven't we made more progress in this area?
Check out the latest Pulse episode as we explore this topic with Andrew Talbot, Research & Insights Principal at Elation.
