Problem is aside from highways and streets there is less public space in most of America. Even plazas snd parks are privately owned.

Good discovery and timely! We have been training librarians on "placemaking" in their immediate surroundings and now have a Climate Justice Fellow working on pilot efforts in Spring Valley to bring people together and think about/ experiment to deal with floods, heat etc in the context of the local environment that works for people every day.
