HIVEMIND REQUEST: Community building and management is ubiquitous in my day job at Greeenpeace International but have never been formally trained in it and would like to take the opportunity of my current work sabbatical to gain some formal training. Have found a few training options through my own research but none are particularly awe inspiring and do feel like there must be better things out there. Do YOU know of any good quality community building and/community management trainings and / or certifications? They don’t have to be related to change making or civil society they just need to be well conceived and delivered by genuine specialists. On Tuesday, the Directorate General of Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) celebrated World Cultural Diversity Day, emphasizing the importance of embracing diversity and fostering mutual respect among different cultures. Under the guidance of Director General Hameed Khan Niazi, #BECS schools hosted various #events and competitions. They also organized a walk and a visit to #LokVirsa for students, who carried placards highlighting the beauty of #diversity. Director General Niazi noted that Cultural #DiversityDay, observed annually on May 21st, celebrates the rich tapestry of cultures that make our world #vibrant and unique. He highlighted that despite its importance, cultural diversity faces #challenges such as discrimination, prejudice, and cultural #hegemony, which can impede the full #benefits of diversity and lead to #social tensions and conflicts. Embracing cultural diversity offers countless #opportunities for learning, #innovation, and growth. It enriches our lives by introducing us to new #ideas, experiences, and perspectives. By promoting inclusivity and #equality, societies can leverage the collective wisdom and #creativity of all their members. On this day, individuals, organizations, and governments are encouraged to take actions that foster cultural diversity and #intercultural understanding. This can include organizing #cultural events, supporting multicultural initiatives and advocating for policies that protect the rights of #minority groups. Return to campus is far from ordinary this semester, amid shifting campus policies and, at times, campus Antisemitism. Our students deserve to learn and thrive in and out of the classroom, but that is fraught for many students, their parents by extension. ??In 2022, the Liberated Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum Consortium became involved in public school curricula across the country, including heavily biased content with an anti-Zionist/anti-Semitic slant. Antisemitism is becoming normalized in this curriculum, and we are doing everything in our power to fight back with legal tools to keep this out of schools.
