Boom. We're back. ???? Over the last month, James L. and I have been levelling up. We recorded bunch of episodes and they're going to be coming to your-favourite-podcast player starting today. ?? Recording this episode was fun. We're trying something new - no intro, an instant outro and we just got rolling from the get go. We're also weaving very large circles that may seem off topic and eventually arrive at a few beautiful thoughts - "As much as we'd like to think of ourselves as a rule based society, we aren't. And therefore, we can't have a mathematical rule based system govern us". ???? We discuss futuristic crime scenarios, algocracies such as the ones portrayed in West-world, and the need for "imperfect AI". ?? Would a technological governance system do us good? We open the post Easter week with an excellent article from Professor Dr Eric Halford. There is a general consensus that Policing has been 'behind the curve' when it comes to adopting a Digital and AI 'toolkit' for crime detection / prevention. Whilst this would have no doubt been impacted by available funding, Police Services do need a consistent stream of candidates that have the necessary experience and qualifications to deliver Digital and Forensic Strategy.
