???????? ?? ???????? ?????? ??????????????! Why is it that this is such a common expression among actors? Is it the rapturous applause?... maybe. But to me it is something more than that. There is a freedom in the theatre, a life that exists in one true moment that is hard to capture anywhere else. You play through scenes in full, experiencing a something new with each iteration of it and in those scenes the beauty of humanities truth is revealed. And it is true that there is nothing quite like the live theatre, a big part of that is the direct access to the audience. However there is no reason we cannot capture the same magic we experience every time we step on stage, everytime to step into our voice booths or infront of cameras. And actor worth their salt knows that there is little difference between playing in the theatre, on a film set or in a booth. The only difference that should exist for you is the given circumstance of your medium that influence your performance. - You're in a theatre, so speak louder! - You're on camera... don't look at it! - You're voicing a kids animation, make it bigger! The key to bringing the same magic to a voice performance as you would to a theatre performance is simple... ???? ?????? ????????! For every performance I give I put the same thought and effort into my characters development as I would in a production for the stage or the screen. The upside is I don't have to walk with a limp, but I do still end up hot and sweaty at the end. #acting #voiceactor #voiceacting #professionaldevelopment #videogames --------------------------------------------------------------- Every story needs a voice. FILM MAKING !!!!!! PART 2 **Stage** The stage has a limited boundary, and an artist has to perform within that confined space. The audience sitting in front of the stage can see the expressions on the artist's face in close-up only when they come and go, whereas, on small screens (TV and cinema screens) or big screens, the artist's expression can be easily shown through 'close-ups'. The artist's emotion (expression) can be shown to all the viewers easily. The entire work of 'acting' has to be done on the same stage, that is, the actor has to perform in one 'location'. Attention on the stage and arrangement of lighting (sound and light) is also different in television and film compared to theater. Before the presentation of a story or any 'plot' on stage, its complete rehearsal is conducted, whereas in films and television, the actual work begins after the 'shooting' of the scene. The curtain on the stage falls after the scene ends and it rises again to indicate the beginning of a new scene, which is not the case in films and television. **Film and Television** Unlike the confined stage of theater, film and television have no such limitations, and their 'shooting' location can be changed as per need. #Stage #Film #Theater #Acting #Performance #Rehearsal #Lighting #Sound #Television #Location #Shooting #Scene #Presentation #Plot #Curtain #Difference #Media #Entertainment #Art #Drama

Rehearsal discipline is critical to a successful theatre production. The rehearsals have to start on time and run for the scheduled duration; everyone involved must show up on time and be ready to work. To achieve the desired outcomes, the actors and actresses must be dedicated and take their roles seriously. Let's talk about the IMPORTANCE OF REHEARSALS TO ACTORS. 1. Character Development Rehearsals provide actors with the time and space to fully explore and develop their characters. They can delve into the character's motivations, backstory, and relationships, allowing for a deeper understanding of their role. 2. Script Exploration During rehearsals, actors have the opportunity to dissect the script, analyze the dialogue, and understand the overall narrative arc. This exploration helps actors uncover nuances in the text and ensures they fully grasp the playwright's intentions. 3. Blocking and Movement Directors use rehearsals to block scenes, determining the actors' movements and positioning on stage. Through rehearsal, actors become familiar with their blocking, ensuring smooth transitions and effective staging. 4. Scene Work and Dynamics Actors rehearse scenes repeatedly to refine their performances and develop dynamic interactions with their scene partners. Rehearsals allow actors to experiment with different choices and approaches, honing their craft and finding the most compelling way to tell the story. 5. Emotional Preparation Rehearsals provide actors with the opportunity to emotionally prepare for their scenes. They can explore the emotional journey of their characters, practice accessing different emotions, and establish a strong emotional connection to the material. 6. Collaboration Rehearsals are a collaborative process, allowing actors to work closely with directors, fellow cast members, and other creative team members. Through collaboration, actors can exchange ideas, give and receive feedback, and contribute to the overall artistic vision of the production. #actors #rehearsals #theatre

KINGDOM - Animated Short Film https://lnkd.in/g_rpPEmw Can art reveal, transform, and inspire? What does it take to redeem a culture left in ruins? KINGDOM is an audio-visual experience that serves as a template for empowerment. It models the path of awakening in the face of adversity, becoming whole, and confronting inner and outer darkness in order to transform it. The film's visual and musical arrangement imprints a more courageous way of being. With repeated viewings, this imprint strengthens and becomes available to the viewer as an inner knowing. It's against immense odds, that the brilliance of one's soul spark ignites – and it's through the unison of our sparks that the purifying inferno of Truth blazes. One flame to ignite an inferno. ?? Dance as Storytelling in Film ?? For me, a musical or dance number in a movie should do more than just look good—it should drive the plot forward. Every step, every movement should answer key questions: Who are the characters? What do they want? How are we moving the story forward? ?? Surprise & Engage: Think of it like an action sequence in an Indiana Jones film—just when you think the hero's going to succeed, something knocks them down. It's all about the balance between success and failure, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. A great dance number does the same—it surprises, it engages, it tells a story. ?? We Are Storytellers: At the end of the day, dance is more than just choreography; it's a powerful tool for storytelling. Every dance should push the narrative, reveal something new, and keep the audience captivated. #DanceInFilm #StorytellingThroughDance #MusicalNumbers #Choreography #Filmmaking #PlotDrivenDance

Traditional Theatre and Design A memorable experience of traditional theatre lies in its originality and uniqueness. Perhaps at first it may look ordinary but after knowing the efforts people put in it makes me realise how extraordinary it is. The actors whom we like so much some of them have once worked as a theatre artist and maybe that's what makes them unique in their own way. After working in the acting and production team I have realised that nothing can be accomplished successfully without correspondence and understanding of your teammates. Actors who perform on stage and people who work backstage, need to communicate and understand each other. Through this play we have learnt about theatre and its elements, yet the most valuable knowledge was being adaptive to any situation. Designing doesn't always asks you to draw, sometimes it asks you to lead, learn, adjust, understand and interact. From paper to on screen everything is required design in its own way. For actors it was about dialogues and expression and for us it was about lighting, background, costume, colour scheme and props and so on. I appreciate everyone who worked with me and a special thanks to sir Rayees Wathori who guided us in this journey. #traditional #entertainment #management #drama #play

Inspiring Young Actors: The Importance of Affirmations Directing student theatre presents unique challenges. For some, it's a first and perhaps only stage experience; for others, it sparks a lifelong passion for theatrical storytelling, potentially shaping careers. Practical applications in directing are essential. As a director, affirmations are crucial in student theatre. Rehearsals can be daunting and disheartening. To counter this, I start each rehearsal with tailored affirmations. Crafting these requires time and intuition, fitting the age and experience of each actor. After my directing stint at Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, I reflected on affirmations and their impact. Here’s what I emphasized. Week 1: Elementary-Level Actors Working with varying confidence levels, I chose affirmations like: “I am creative.” Encourages imagination and innovation. “I am fearless.” Helps conquer stage fright. “I am extraordinary.” Emphasizes uniqueness and talent. Week 2: Middle School-Level Actors With diverse intuition and passion, I focused on: "I am a creator.” Encourages character development. “I am a collaborator.” Highlights teamwork. “I am a storyteller.” Reminds of theatre's essence. Affirmations foster a positive, supportive environment, building confidence, creativity, and unity among actors. They empower young performers, leaving lasting impacts beyond the stage. #TheatreDirector #PerformingArts #TheatreProduction #CreativeLeadership #StageManagement #ArtsEducation #Directing #TheatreCommunity #YouthTheatre #StudentTheatre #TheatreTraining #ArtisticDirector #LivePerformance #ActingCoach #TheatreCareers #ProductionManagement #TheatreArts #LeadershipInTheArts #ArtsManagement #CommunityTheatre

#ThrowbackThursday to the last time I acted on stage ?. Playing a Texan gal in a two-hander play, onstage constantly from curtain up to curtain down ??. I always felt extremely comfortable onstage, like anything could happen and I could handle it. Of course, there were nerves before I went on, but when the lights went down and the audience hushed, I was relaxed and in control. I was always fascinated by the split focus of the actor's brain ??. You're in character, you really are. You're experiencing and feeling the action of the play in character. But there's another part of the brain that's still you, managing the theatrical practicalities. Where you need to stand, what props you need and dealing with any issues that arise. I've dealt with all sorts. Actors not being on stage, all the furniture missing, actors forgetting their lines, me forgetting my lines, costume malfunctions, being naked . . . er, what? Yep, none of it bothered me ??. Walking into a theatre still gives me goosebumps. It's like a hallowed place where magic happens ??. I'm a full-time voice actor now and I get MUCH more work, so it suits me a lot better. I'm partial to eating now and then, you know ??. But, I'll always miss the thrill of the stage ? How about you? Have you ever been on stage? Did you love it? ?? #voiceactor #actor #voiceover #theatre #drama #audiodrama -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Need a voiceover who can act for your next project? ?? ?? ??TV SHOW HIGHLIGHT AND REVIEW ? Alexander: The Making of a God It’s been about a month to watch this Netflix show, so hopefully you are all caught up, BUT if you are behind STOP READING to avoid any spoilers and bookmark to come back at a later time. A great way to do this on Instagram is to save it on the app! Overall, SASA team members enjoyed the story, but did feel like it was lacking in a few areas. First, we feel that it was great to see both sides of the Persian and Greek history rather than just the Greek perspective when discussing Alexander. Second, of course we loved that the production team did not shy away from Alexander’s sexuality, but it does not quite paint an accurate picture of Greek sexuality as a whole. It also seemed to be a ploy for more viewers rather than for the sake of depicting history. For example, saying that the greeks did not have words to describe being gay or homosexual is just not quite true :occhi: Lastly, in spite of these benefits, beautiful cinematography, and solid acting, there were still several inaccuracies such as the costumes, the weapons, and the battle formations were the things we noticed the most. The SASA team loves that these shows make history more accessible to audiences, but hopefully in the future we will continue to see more and more accurate depictions of historical docudramas. Let us know your opinions about the show in the comments below and the team would love to respond!! ? Are there any other shows we should review? #SASA #SaveAncientStudiesAlliance #WorldHistory #AncientWorld #AncientCivilizations #AncientGreeks #AchaemenidEmpire #GreekHomosexuality #AlexanderTheGreat #Docudrama #ShowReview #HistoricalInaccuracies
