Continue with my introduction. I started working part-time at the age of 15 and managed to work in various fields: bread slicer at a bakery, courier, waiter, gas station operator, shoe salesman, painter, photographer, mobile phone salesman, system administrator, computer repair engineer, and many more – so many that I can't even remember them all. ?? In 95% of cases, I worked for 1 to 3 months and then quit. But my first serious passion, which became a source of income, began when I started repairing and servicing computers. Around the age of 17, I began studying computers, fixing and upgrading them. ?? I printed advertising flyers on my computer and posted them in elevators, put them in mailboxes, handed them out at the subway, placed ads in newspapers, and published them on websites. In 2007-2008, I could earn up to 2000 UAH per month (around $400) – this was my first job where my income depended solely on me. It was an important lesson: do what you love, do it well, and the results will come. ?? Later, I moved to another city and decided to stop doing repairs. But calls from clients continued for another 7 years after that. ?? Stay tuned for the next posts – in the next publication, I'll tell you how I became a marketer. #personalstory #mypath #work #firstexperiences #success #marketing #motivation #lifehistory #professionalgrowth

Today marks 2 weeks since I was impacted by the RIF at Checkr. I have noticed a few things that can be very frustrating for job seekers. The lack of pay and benefits information is a commonly mentioned frustration. Job seekers don't want to waste your time anymore than our own. Imagine seeing what appears to be a perfect fit skills and career wise only to find out it pays less than you can accept plus the cost of benefits is twice what you anticipated. Tied in level of frustration is attempting to make jobs something they are not. I saw a job posting for an "Appearance Technician", "technician" is a key word I have been looking for but it was a truck detailer. The job entailed washing and shampooing carpets in rental box trucks. Not every position is a technician, specialist, or analyst. That's perfectly fine, trucks need detailing and the person who is looking for that job likely missed the posting due to the job title. Office job titles can be clerks or associates and again that is acceptable. Lastly, failing to realize experience can be as useful, if not more so, as a degree. If you aren't specifying a job related degree and accept any degree, why isn't relevant experience acceptable? Is someone with a history degree going to be a better fit for customer service manager than the high school graduate with multiple years in the field and supervisory experience?

??Hiring for a Customer Service Supervisor role?? As we get ready for the holidays, I wanted to share a quick insight from a recent conversation with a candidate. I spoke with a candidate who has a very impressive background in customer service and his resume is the kind that would make any company take notice. No doubt you'd think he'd land a job quickly. Yet, he's been struggling to make it through screenings. Why? It wasn’t about his skills or experience—it was about role mismatch. In today’s job market, customer service has many functions, and it’s often misunderstood. Here are just a few examples of the diverse areas within customer service: ? Call Centers ? After-Sales Service ? Technical Support & Repairs ? Customer Experience (CX) ? Omnichannel Support ? Quality Assurance Each function serves a unique purpose and requires tailored skills. A mismatch often happens when candidates assume their broad experience will automatically transfer to any customer service role. However, hiring managers are looking for someone who matches their specific needs. If you're navigating similar challenges, I'd be happy to share more insights on what hiring managers are looking for in customer service roles. Sometimes, a small shift in how your present your experience can make all the difference. I'm currently hiring for a Customer Service Supervisor role and would love to connect with professionals looking to make their next move- don't hesitate to reach out to me via LinkedIn or at [email protected] Wishing everyone a relaxing and joyful holiday season ahead!

Field Service is not easy, many times I doubted myself along the way. Remember, the job is not about impressing others it's about getting the job done right the first time. When I managed other in field service everybody had a special skill different from everybody else, but the one thing that made a difference is looking at the work ethic, I could teach a tech skills they lacked, but work ethic needs to come from inside the person. So if your supervisor is not impressed by you, more than likely it has more to do with your knowledge or skill set. So be a hard worker, responsible, and have be self motivated. That where it starts, then employ all the above suggestions in this link.
