If it was possible to impose a siege on settler areas of Israel and kill 44,000 Israelis including 14,000 children while once healthy children died of famine,?were afflicted by diseases or loss of limbs, would this be considered collateral damage? Would this be a solution to settler attacks on Palestinians? If reporters and humanitarian workers and UN Peacekeepers trying to support Israelis under siege were murdered or severely injured, would this be considered collateral damage? As for Palestinian Israeli citizens, they don’t have the same rights for government services, where they can build their homes, undertake home renovations and protest against the Israeli army continuous killing and destruction in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. Apartheid in Israel has 76 years of history including terrorizing those in Palestinian communities to leave to make way for Israelis who believe they have Devine right to do so. Palestinians under Israeli military in the West Bank have no rights, subject to the whims of Israeli soldiers nearby, thus experience arbitrary arrests, routine torture in Israeli prisons, home demolitions, and expropriations. And there are the home evictions in East Jerusalem and Jewish National Fund support of military requirements and forest planting, mostly to make way for Jewish only residents.? Unfortunately, there are many more segments of the “holistic” Israeli terrorist Apartheid project. I need not prove the existence of 76 years of Apartheid as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch plus Israeli human rights groups B’Tselem and Yesh Din have already done so. And today, this includes Netanyahu using the most well-armed, well-financed and sophisticated terrorist human shields, the Israeli military, to protect him from being ejected from office. Easy to brush all this off as coming from self-disliking Jews. That is not much different than the way climate deniers brush off all references and solutions to climate change. To address prejudice and practice Tikkun olam (repair the world) in the Jewish new year, Palestinians and Jews must have equal rights.?To do otherwise is undemocratic, extremely discriminatory and prejudiced.

Our very own staff and essential peer organizations lost colleagues and loved ones. ???The crisis in north Gaza continues to deteriorate with the intensification of the siege. Our teams tell us they hear more and more bombing. It’s unclear how many people are trapped. More aid and safe access for humanitarians is essential. ???The Israeli army continues to hit the centre of Beirut in #Lebanon. Civilians keep on displacing looking for safety, including some of our staff and their families. ______ Action Against Hunger condemns these attacks and recalls the obligation to protect the lives of civilians and humanitarian and healthcare workers. ?? Our job is to respond non-stop to help the people who need it most. That is why we continue to deliver blankets, water, food, hygiene kits and other basic emergency services.

Is #Sudan a forgotten war? A war that started with counter-accusations has caused enormous human suffering.
