CBME is revolutionizing medical education, focusing on essential competencies over traditional time-based training. The AAMC’s ongoing efforts in developing CBME resources highlight the shift towards more dynamic, outcome-oriented healthcare education. Let’s dive into how this approach is shaping future healthcare professionals in the AAMC’s upcoming virtual discussions. #CBME #MedicalEducation #HealthcareInnovation
In this week’s #MedEdSpotlight, we're highlighting our decades-long commitment to competency-based medical education (CBME) and our support for the development, implementation, and assessment of new competencies. We’ve partnered with American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) and the ACGME to create a common set of foundational competencies for use in undergraduate medical education. Nearly 1,000 of your fellow medical educators, physicians, medical students, residents, patients, and caregivers have shared their input, and now we’re finalizing these competencies to be released later this year. Available now is our “New and Emerging Areas in Medicine” competency series, which aims to guide curricular and professional development, formative performance assessment, and, ultimately, improvements in patient care and outcomes. DEI, telehealth, and quality improvement and patient safety competencies are available. Learn more about these competency sets and other resources to support your CBME work: https://ow.ly/NmHy50QJXVI
