WEDNESDAY WISDOM ?? At first, it can seem overwhelming when thinking of switching to a more sustainable wardrobe. The amount of clothes you have to assess, knowing what alternatives to look for, and pieces for repair that have piled up for years. But in fashion (which also mirrors in life) small & simple steps are still progress! A more ethical approach is fashion is a journey, not a one-day job. Engaging with more materials, learning to sew a loose button, turning an old shirt into a scarf, etc. are all examples of steps that may not seem like a lot, but are truly valuable in becoming more conscious and attentive to your pieces. Involve your friends, take it a day at a time, and most importantly, make choices that you enjoy. The "small" habits that you begin to introduce last longer when you are truly excited to continue them! I talk more about upcycling in one of my recent blogs ?? https://lnkd.in/gWUgHaXr #ZeroWasteFashion #EcoFashion #SustainableFashion

Poses deeply thoughtful insights, challenging dominant narratives on buying mindlessly
Founder of Phia | Founder of Climate Cardinals | Stanford | Forbes 30 under 30 | Youngest UN Advisor
Fast fashion operates on a model that values profit over the environment, churning out disposable clothes designed to be worn for a season and discarded without a second thought. But we can all commit to being part of the solution. To choosing quality over quantity, to supporting the circular economy, and to advocating for policies that protect both people and the planet. Together, we can weave a new narrative for fashion, one stitch at a time, towards a future where every garment we wear tells a story of respect for our world.

As a fashion designer, I struggled for a long time to make up my mind. Should I create pretty dresses, tailored suits, or strive to build a big fashion brand? This internal dilemma held me back for years. After a decade of contemplation, I realized that the last thing I want to do is produce more items that nobody needs, only for them to end up in landfills or contribute to CO2 emissions. ?? I decided to take a different path and work with what already exists—using materials that can biodegrade or are part of a circular economy. But that's just the tip of the textile waste iceberg! With an open heart, a fear of uncertainty, but also hope and determination, I am proudly taking a leap of faith toward a better tomorrow. ?? I came across a short film that serves as a reminder of our consumtion and greed consequence... that the power to change lies in OUR hands. Always put yourself in others’ shoes. Imagine your country in theirs, and envision your children in their children’s shoes. Then step back and see the bigger picture. It is MY shoes that end up in their landfills. We are all contributors, whether we realize it or not. It’s up to US to make changes. Big or small. https://lnkd.in/emzDSQjG

Did you know that the fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world? ?? It's a shocking reality, but one we can change. We all love fashion, but it's time to rethink our wardrobe choices. By organizing our clothes sustainably, we can reduce our environmental impact and save money. Here’s how you can do it: Declutter regularly: Sort through your clothes and donate or sell what you no longer wear. Quality over quantity: Invest in well-made, timeless pieces that will last longer. Repair and reuse: Mend torn clothes instead of throwing them away. Organize efficiently: Use storage solutions like shelves, drawers, and hangers to keep your wardrobe tidy and accessible. Let's make sustainable fashion a part of our everyday lives. Share your eco-friendly wardrobe tips in the comments below! #sustainablefashion #ecofriendly #wardrobeorganization #greenliving

Some great words from the amazing Clare Press ?? Clare has 3 key tips for embracing slow fashion: 1. Literally slow down. Pause. Take a breath. Step off the trend cycle, or back from your shopping habits and recalibrate. If you decide to de-clutter, the MOST IMPORTANT THING is to do that mindfully ??♀? Do not throw unwanted clothes away! The aim is to keep textiles out of landfill. 2. Repair, reuse, recycle, restyle. Become a mender. Get creative. Upcycle. Swap. All these things can help keep clothing in use for longer ? 3. Enjoy it. Ethical and sustainable fashion should be fun! ?? Create a wardrobe of clothes you value and appreciate. Honour the people who made them.

?????? ??????????, ?? ???????????? ????????????, ?????? ?? ???????????? ???? ????????????. A friend of mine recently told me about a dress she inherited from her grandmother. Worn for decades, repaired multiple times, and now repurposed into a chic jacket, it’s not just clothing, it’s a story of sustainability. That got me thinking: What if every piece of fashion had a second, third, or even fourth life? This is the essence of circular fashion, a movement transforming the fashion industry. Instead of the traditional “buy, wear, toss” cycle, brands are now designing clothes to be reused, repaired, and recycled. ?????? ???? ??????????????: ?? ?????? ?????????? ????????????: Fashion waste is one of the largest contributors to landfills globally, with millions of tonnes discarded annually. ?? ???????????????? ??????????????????: Brands are introducing buy-back programs, using recycled fabrics, and designing with durability in mind to minimize waste and conserve resources. Circular fashion isn’t just a trend—it’s a mindset. It encourages us to see value in every garment, to repair instead of replace, and to choose quality over quantity. #SustainableFashion #CircularEconomy #EcoTrends #ConsciousConsumer #Sustainability #Consumer #Clothes
