The discharge ducting is a mess in terms of routing - too many bends and the direction of the discharge is not to a proper place. System effects are robbing the fan of performance, as the 90 degree elbow is bolted directly to the discharge flange of the fan. It also appears that this duct should be attached to a dust collector. There could be some other issues, but between the accumulated dust and the text on the photo it is difficult to see what all is going on here. Note: It's entirely too common to find mis-applied, mis-installed, and otherwise bewildering installations out in the wild... The other frustration with these situations is that the owners typically do not want to pay any money up front to have things done correctly, and are very reluctant to hire someone to come in and set things right and actually fix their problems.

The market is looking great in this space, and odds are we have something. QUICK NOTE- #1 piece of advice before entering a "hot" market where things can move quickly and people will jump at your skills: talk to your current employer about your pain points. If you enjoy your current role but may be unhappy with one or two small things, bring that to your current management team before dedicating yourself to making a move. No role is perfect. Save the time and see what is possible in your current position, then you can evaluate if its time to explore something new.

Engineering leads can become conduits who ensure everyone is working in sync on the right things, at the right cadences. But this requires a collaborative approach from the engineers.
