Hydrogen Cars vs. Electric Cars: The Future of Clean Transportation ???? I've been having some extremely interesting conversations with experts in my network this week. Both are trailblazing towards a cleaner, greener future, but each has its unique pros and cons. Electric cars (EVs) are currently the frontrunners. With an ever-growing charging infrastructure across the UK, owning an EV is becoming more convenient than ever. Plus, with the government's plan to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, the momentum is only increasing. EVs have zero tailpipe emissions, and let's not forget how satisfying it is to never pay for petrol again! ?? On the other hand, hydrogen cars, which emit only water vapour, might sound like a dream come true. The potential for quick refuelling times and longer driving range is appealing. However, the hydrogen infrastructure is still in its infancy, with fewer refuelling stations around. The technology also faces significant hurdles in terms of cost and energy efficiency. So which one should you back? ?? I believe the ultimate goal is a net zero future where both technologies can thrive, offering diverse and sustainable options for everyone. What are your thoughts? European Union’s Electric Vehicle Market Clusters: Insights to 2035 Electric vehicles (EVs) are central to Europe’s shift towards sustainable transportation, and EU regulations have been instrumental in accelerating EV adoption across member countries. Researchers have analyzed this trend using hierarchical clustering, grouping EU nations into seven clusters based on their readiness and advancement toward net-zero emissions in the passenger car sector. This approach illuminates significant disparities in EV adoption, with “innovator” clusters positioned to achieve net-zero well before 2035, while other clusters, including Poland and Greece, face challenges meeting these targets by that time. As a part of the evolving hydrogen and sustainable energy landscape, Circular Refining aims to complement these developments by focusing on digital tools and infrastructure that support hydrogen fueling and logistics, particularly in regions needing accelerated clean energy adoption. We aim to create a cohesive network of refuelling stations, initially targeting underserved areas in North Wales and Northwest England, to streamline and expand access to alternative clean fuels like hydrogen, bolstering Europe’s transition towards a low-carbon future.
