?? New Op-Ed Alert! ?? In my latest piece, “Over Resilience: Lessons From Israel for Jewish Americans,” I explore the balance Jewish communities in the U.S. must strike between preparedness and maintaining normalcy. As someone who lives between Israel and the U.S., I see first-hand how Israel's decades of resilience can inform our approach to safety and security. But we must ensure that preparedness doesn't consume our daily lives. It's about fostering a community where Jewish life can thrive without the shadow of fear. ?? Read more in Jewish Exponent and let’s continue the conversation on how to create safe, secure, and thriving spaces for Jewish communities in the U.S. https://lnkd.in/d5Jg6yYh

Richard is an excellent thinker.
In a country proclaiming freedom of speech as its preeminent value, we now seek to silence voices instead of protecting them.?? ? What happened to the good old days when a Jewish lawyer from the notoriously liberal American Civil Liberties Union fought to?allow neo-Nazis to march through a Chicago suburb where many Holocaust survivors lived?? ? Instead of suppressing, amplify your antagonist’s voice.?If they are as evil or stupid as you believe, their arguments will collapse under their own weight. 405 days have passed since October 7th. 405 days of mourning for the 1200 lives taken from us. 405 days since the hostages were taken from their loved ones. 405 days of rampant antisemitism on the streets of Europe. 405 days since the Jewish world was forever changed. #October7th #Antisemitism #BringThemBack __________________________________________________________________________________________ Follow our other social media accounts: https://lnkd.in/eHkgWaRs

At Rhythm, we seek to acknowledge Juneteenth and uplift in honor of the holiday. Short for “June Nineteenth”, Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. A report by Louis Keene today in The Forward (link in the first comment following this post) tells of a Dallas city councilmember's home that was vandalized over the weekend, replete with "a pile of fake, bloodstained infant body bags" and the words "baby killer" spray painted on the side of her home. Mr. Keene used a quote from the council member as the dek (subhead) of the article, which encapsulates the sentiment better than anything: ‘Folks, you’re going to need to stop sitting on the sidelines thinking everything will be ok,’ Councilwoman Cara Mendelsohn said. ‘Things are not ok.' Two things: 1) This is why I continue to speak up whenever something salient comes across my newsfeed or on the wires I check for my own work. 2) Whenever I post, I always include the sources I have learned the information from. I commented on a post yesterday written by a woman whose palpable anger is wholly justified but whose information was more screed than fact. When I politely suggested she include the sources of the litenany of information she was sharing, I was called "lazy" for asking to know where the information came from; I should "look it up myself"; I am parroting "pro-Hamas, mainstream" media; and my favorite: "it's social media, we don't need to cite sources." The last one was the most defeating, personally. Folks, if we Jews (and all people of good will) are going to use the truth as our shield in an effort to call out and vanquish moral bankruptcy, then we must make sure what is put out there -- especially on social media -- is accurate and verifiable. Don't cede an inch by having the incident that occurred to Councilwoman Cara Mendelsohn called into question because of hyperbole. The facts are ugly enough without having to juice them. The truth matters. Facts are objective despite what Kellyanne Conway famously said (e.g. "alternative facts).
