Over 200,000 birds meet a tragic end daily in #Hawaii due to collisions with window glass. The US witnesses around three billion bird fatalities each year through this preventable cause, averaging about one hundred per second, ~5700 per minute, or roughly 8 million per day. Despite the staggering numbers, these incidents often go unnoticed. #Hawaii stands fifth among the fifty states in this concerning statistic, due to the Aloha State's rich avian #diversity and #hospitality development. The solution to this collision crisis lies in simple measures like adding screens, applying dedicated window films, or installing bird-friendly glazing from the beginning. Unfortunately, such efforts to mitigate collisions in the state remain minimal. That's where we step in to make a difference. I keep wondering about this potential option for putting out the fires in California… Some areas have too much snow while California has too many fires and not enough water. Why can’t we transport the snow to California to help with the fires? It is possible. It would save so much money spent on salt and other ice melting materials that get used. Also, snow melts, and causes flooding or landslides, which could be preventable. People are donating time and money to help rebuild homes in California. Why don’t we spend the time and money to help save them? What am I missing?
