Over 200,000 birds meet a tragic end daily in #NewJersey due to collisions with window glass. The US witnesses around three billion bird fatalities each year through this preventable cause, averaging about one hundred per second, ~5700 per minute, or roughly 8 million per day. Despite the staggering numbers, these incidents often go unnoticed. #NewJersey stands third among the fifty states in this concerning statistic, due to the Garden State's rich avian diversity and extensive urban development. The solution to this collision crisis lies in simple measures like installing screens, applying dedicated window films, or installing bird-friendly glazing from the beginning. Unfortunately, such efforts to mitigate collisions in the state remain minimal. That's where we step in to make a difference. Connect with The Zoological Lighting Institute either through me or visit www.zoolighting.org to explore solutions and to help to pay for them. We are committed to assisting in implementing bird-friendly designs through the Little Birds Tax Relief Initiative. Whether you're an individual, a #nonprofit, or a #forprofit organization, we're here to collaborate and support your efforts in safeguarding our feathered friends.
