You can break it down personally, professionally, for your team, or as a family. PROTIP:?Look at your calendar to recall highlights or start with?things you’re grateful for. It’s incredible to see how much you do — and forget you’ve done — in a year. Even if you didn’t hit every goal…you’ve accomplished more than you think! THAT’S the energy to bring into the new year: Momentum, improvement, excitement. Start by focusing on?the GAIN not the GAP. P.S. Kicking off 2025 ?? We sometimes forget who we are, why we are here, and what we want to achieve. Moreover, we often forget how great our teammates are, what they seek or dream of, how ambitious they are, and how incredible the journey we are participating in is. A picture is worth a thousand words. Our team has created the shared vision board for Q1. We picked childish but intuitive images that directly represent one's own desires. Here were our common obsessions: - Fans over customers ?? - Revenue growth ?? - Insanely great product ? - Ambitious team ?????? We should clearly understand each other's honest and instinctive desires to get aligned with the same vision and goal. These fundamental motivations and sparks from our hearts build mutual trust as one team. Yess is aiming for 10x growth this year. As we head into the holiday season, here’s a reminder: celebrate the small wins. This year, we didn’t hit the revenue targets we set, but guess what? The foundation is rock solid. Our team is dialed in, systems are smooth, and processes are ready to scale. That’s not just a small win—that’s a massive step forward. Because while revenue fluctuates, resilience and readiness don’t. So here’s to recognizing every milestone, every step that brings us closer. Scaling might be around the corner, but right now, it’s about celebrating the journey. Cheers to the wins that aren’t on the P&L!

Day 86 of January (or so it feels ??), and we’re coming up for air after a whirlwind start to the year. My team has worn all the hats — sometimes at the same time — but through it all, we’ve shown up for each other. At the core of that? Our team’s values. Early in the year (which, again, somehow feels like forever ago!), we did an exercise that forced us to get real about what drives us. We started with over 100 values, narrowed them to about 15, and then fought our way down to four. It was hard. But also? Incredibly clarifying. Because when you know your values, decision-making gets sharper, roles feel clearer, expectations align and the path forward is — well, still busy, but a lot more intentional. Values aren’t just words on a page; they shape how we work, play, drive results, support each other, treat each other, stand up for each other. And when a team operates from that foundation, success isn’t just about hitting goals — it’s also about personal fulfillment, momentum and showing up in ways that actually mean something. So if you haven’t taken a step back to define what actually guides you and your team, consider this your sign. ?? It might just make the rest of 2025 a little smoother (and a whole lot more epic). ?? ? What tasks are you doing all day? ? What should you be doing that is critical to the mission? ? What brings you joy? ? And what are you naturally good at, and what are you not great at? These are all questions that Michele Cheatham is walking us through as we try to re-align our organizational chart. Home Sweet Home STL is poised for some exponential growth in the region, and we have some exceptionally talented people on our team. So we are taking a moment to make sure we are all doing what we are good at -- BEFORE we start to add to the team. Growth + talented team members = good problems! ************************************* PS - That "mess" you see on the floor is confetti as we celebrated some wins this weekend. I keep it around as a reminder of what we have accomplished. ??

Today marks the end of the first chapter in my entrepreneurship journey. Did it end the way I envisioned? No. Would I make some different choices if I could? Likely. But would I trade this experience? Not for anything. The goal was simple yet ambitious: to help people move abroad more smoothly—especially to Germany. This journey started in 2020, after over four years of my own expat experience. A chance encounter with Christine James at a brunch sparked a conversation about building a company to support expats moving to Germany. She had the same idea, and soon we joined forces, inviting Gabrielle Soria, and launched Jetztpat within a few short months. Starting a company in Germany felt like the expat experience on steroids, but we successfully set up our GmbH and quickly connected with companies in need of our services. The market was there, ripe and waiting, and we took off running. In early 2023, Gabrielle and I decided to branch off and focus on creating a digital product tailored directly for the individual moving abroad. Worldify GmbH was born in March, and we poured ourselves into building that vision with the help of the brilliant Leonard Kinzinger. Then, right on the cusp of launch, we hit a wall. Bootstrapping could only take us so far. Investors hesitated, and angel funding was elusive. Grants were out of reach since we’d already been founders. We needed a CTO. We were stuck. The vision had always been to offer people the support we so desperately needed during our own moves. But we refused to launch a product only to pull back on delivering that essential support. And so, we stopped. Just like that, the first chapter of my entrepreneurship journey came to a close. I’ve filed away my binder of ideas and company documents (a binder—true German integration!). It’s a bittersweet moment, but I’m deeply grateful for every lesson along the way. The problem remains, and I’ll continue to cheer on Jetztpat and every other company tackling it! For me, this is the end of a chapter, not the book. Another idea is already taking shape, now fortified with four years of invaluable experience. Thank you—from the bottom of my heart—to everyone I met during Chapter 1. I hope to see many of you in the next! ?? ??
