I'd like to have words with some of the married couples I've met recently... I've had 500 conversations in the last 6 weeks - spreading the gospel of Partytrick near and far. It's been invigorating, sometimes exhausting, and often entertaining. And a clear pattern has emerged: the invisible burden of the “unofficial” party planner. Some of the business executives I spoke with simply had no idea how their events come together. They just knew someone else handled it - the ever-reliable wife, the unflappable office assistant, the wide-eyed and eager intern, but they had absolutely no sense of what that actually looks like! They don’t realize that those amazing individuals are secretly drowning in spreadsheets and RSVP nightmares and suffering bouts of insomnia as the events draw near. Here's the thing: party planning is a multifaceted beast. It's vendor coordination, budget wrangling, guest communication, creative design, and a whole lot more. It's a labor of love, often unseen and underappreciated by the people who benefit from it most. So, businesses, if you care about staff retention, employee job satisfaction, ROI, and growth, you need a better strategy than, “It must be easy, my wife does it.” (Husbands, do better! Wives, don’t volunteer to do something if it doesn’t bring you joy!) I have no doubt that there are unsung heroes pulling rabbits out of a hat for your events, but I guarantee you that, without Partytrick, you’re leaving a lot of potential on the table. It’s so helpful when trying to get up to speed. 2???It takes time. You’re not going to be operating at your best, week 1. It takes time, but It will come. 3???Listen to lots of gong calls. Download the app on your phone, and listen whenever you can. - Search by common objections. - By product being discussed. - Industry. Real conversations will help everything click for you. 4???Start by understanding the problems your prospect faces. Understand: - Talk tracks and why reps sell the way they do. - Why what you sell is important. - What they care about. 5???Remember to pay it back. Don’t forget how much people are helping you now. Whenever a client is communicative and personable, it makes our jobs here a whole lot easier. I understand change can be difficult, especially when it affects something as precious as your business, but I always appreciate when a client trusts the process from beginning to end. We're clearly here to make a positive impact on every brand we touch, so those that are receptive to ideas and constructive with their feedback are the ones that make me feel supercharged. ? When did one of your teammates show their KickCharge colors by helping you out or somehow brightening your day? It feels redundant to say, but it's truly impossible to single out any one person. Because we have an amazing work culture, we really do have the best team in terms of talent and attitude. And the greatest part about my role in particular is getting to work directly with each team on a daily basis. However, I have to show love to my Account Team—Gina, Amanda, Kelly, Erica, Dan and Caragh—for their willingness to always lend a hand and laugh throughout the day. ? In preparation for our seasonal kick off meeting, our fantastic field team had a bit of fun dressing up in the season’s start colours and outfits. Our team means a lot to me, as they are the support system that everyone needs at work. Every week we meet up face to face to collaborate, exchange ideas, and share plans for the upcoming week. This approach not only fosters a productive work environment but also strengthens the team’s cohesion and effectiveness. We always follow up on what we have agreed to accomplish during the previous’ week meeting and we measure the successes achieved. When things don’t go as we planned, we are open and honest about our challenges, knowing that transparency is the bedrock of a great team. It takes a lot of effort and consistency to build a highly functional team, but the reward is worth the wait, as it creates a positive and rewarding experience for everyone involved. One of my favorite experiences was documenting the Viget 2021 company retreat at C Lazy U Ranch.
