To the Amazing Hospitality Fraternity Let’s face it, balancing hotel life and personal life can sometimes feel like juggling flaming cocktail shakers during a dinner rush! The late nights, endless shifts, and "always-on" energy—it’s part of what makes us hospitality pros, well, us! But hey, even rockstars need a break to tune their guitars. Here’s a little reminder for you: ?? Your well-being matters just as much as that perfect guest experience. Take those days off (yes, actually take them), spend time with loved ones, or simply Netflix and chill guilt-free. ?? Set boundaries—work may be a 24/7 gig, but you’re not a robot. Unplug when you can. ?? Celebrate small wins—nailed a tough service? Pat yourself on the back. Made it through the festive season alive? High five. And here’s the most important one: You can’t pour from an empty glass, so make sure you’re filling yours. Wishing all my hospitality heroes a joyful and restful holiday season. You deserve all the love, laughter, and extra tips the world can throw your way. Cheers to you for being the heart of every celebration. Happy Holidays!

As I approach graduation with my degree in Hospitality Management, I’ve been reflecting on the little things that can truly make a guest's experience unforgettable. One of the simplest and most effective ways we can connect with guests, especially during the holiday season, is by genuinely wishing them "Happy Holidays." ??? In the fast-paced world of hospitality, it’s easy to get caught up in the bigger tasks and forget that something as simple as a kind greeting can have a lasting impact. Taking a moment to share a heartfelt wish for a happy holiday season can create a warm, personal connection and make guests feel valued. Here’s why I think this small gesture matters so much: 1. Creates a Personal Connection: A sincere "Happy Holidays" can turn an ordinary interaction into a moment of genuine kindness, reminding guests that we care about their experience beyond just the service we provide. 2.Spreads Positivity: Especially during the busy holiday season, spreading positive energy is a great way to brighten someone's day and contribute to a warm atmosphere. 3. Makes It Memorable: Guests are more likely to remember the hospitality they received, not just for the service, but for the kindness they felt. A simple, heartfelt greeting can be the thing they remember most. As I get ready to begin my career in hospitality, I’m excited to carry these small yet powerful lessons with me—like how something as simple as wishing a guest “Happy Holidays” can truly elevate their experience. It’s these small moments that, to me, make hospitality such a rewarding field. Here’s to bringing more holiday cheer into every guest interaction! ?? #HospitalityManagement #GuestExperience #HappyHolidays #FutureInHospitality #PositiveImpact

Christmas and the Art of Hospitality Christmas, with its twinkling lights and festive cheer, has always been one of my favorite seasons. As a hospitality professional and developer of spaces for communities, it’s a chance to blend my love for the holiday with creating memorable guest experiences. Beyond the celebrations, Christmas is a peak revenue period for hospitality businesses, with global revenues increasing by 20-30% on average during December. Here’s how to make the most of it. 1. Plan Ahead Success starts with preparation. Analyze data from previous years to predict trends and demands. For example, Nigeria’s rise in group travel during the festive season highlights an opportunity for customized packages. 2. Create Unique Experiences Stand out with festive offerings like themed menus, holiday staycations, or family activity bundles. A creative touch—beyond serving iconic Nigerian Jollof at Christmas dinners—leaves a lasting impression; unique activations such as the wonderful Christmas light turning events at Raddison Blu Anchorage and the Upbeat Centre Fest for the family for relaxation and non stop entertainment amongst other events in the city during the season ensure that the season is memorable 3. Focus on Guest Experience Small gestures make a big impact. Personalized notes, surprise upgrades, or festive treats can turn a good stay into a great one. Building personal connections with guests fosters loyalty and word-of-mouth referrals. 4. Use Technology Wisely Streamline operations with user-friendly booking systems and social media engagement. Sharing behind-the-scenes holiday preparations attracts attention and builds anticipation. 5. Manage Resources Avoid disruptions by conducting inventory checks and stocking up on essentials, including festive items like specialty wines and holiday decorations. 6. Reflect and Improve Once the season wraps up, review feedback to identify successes and areas for improvement, setting the stage for an even better season next year. Christmas is a time to deliver joy and drive success. By combining thoughtful planning with a personal touch, hospitality businesses can create unforgettable experiences while thriving during this magical season. #6 is my favourite point. It's always a good idea to review feedback and seek to make improvements. Most people stop at just providing the opportunity to provide feedback and never create time to work on implementing them. Imagine your clients coming back and seeing that you have improved on the feedback provided from the last holiday season. That might just be the beginning of their commitment to you as a loyal customer, and it could potentially have lifetime benefits.
