Introducing our new Instant (Basic Needs) Giving Tree project. Join with your coworkers, parishioners, students or family members to make a major impact this holiday season. Here is how it works: Send us a message to sign up to receive a box of ornaments labeled with our most critical basic needs for incoming arrivals to Wisconsin. Decorate your tree or other display with the ornaments and let everyone pick an ornament or two. Once the shopping is complete, collect all the items (no wrapping necessary), then arrange to deliver to one of our offices by Dec. 23 if possible and Jan. 3 at the latest. Easy peasy! Looking for a way to help support the emotional health of kiddos battling rare diseases and support a local area youth leadership board? KC4K, Kids Caring For Kids, a local non-profit youth leadership board had an amazing idea to stuff zebras and send them out to kiddos battling rare diseases in the month of February! Did you know? February is a month to raise awareness of over 7,000 rare diseases. Every single zebra in the world has a unique pattern. The zebra is the official mascot for rare disease patients. Historically, medical professionals were told that when they “hear hoofbeats,” they should not expect to see a zebra. In other words, look for the more common answer, a horse. Now, we know that one in ten Americans is actually a zebra! If you would like to sponsor a zebra please complete the form below. In 1970, community members in New Hope, Minnesota, joined with faith-based partners to establish People Responding in Social Ministry (PRISM, Golden Valley MN) to help neighbors struggling with food insecurity. What began as a small shed of essentials in New Hope has grown into a resource serving a larger community area, stretching into Plymouth, Crystal, New Hope, Robbinsdale, and Golden Valley. PRISM’s mission is to provide social services and connections that empower people to build healthy, stable lives. Programs include the Marketplace Food Shelf, housing assistance, Shop for Change thrift store, and children’s programs offering birthday party supplies, a Holiday Toy Shoppe, and back-to-school items. As food insecurity rises, PRISM remains a crucial resource. Before the pandemic, 1 in 11 families faced hunger; today, it’s 1 in 6. Despite these challenges, PRISM treats every participant with dignity and compassion, providing vital services while honoring the resilience of the individuals they serve. Brock has spent 9+ years marketing, guiding the website design, producing webinars, hosting virtual meetings, and delivering virtual education for a professional defense association in Washington, DC. Esther has a gift of empathy and caring that is unmatched. She is able to uniquely connect with families & care for them in their grief. This combined experience was perfectly suited to create a beautiful tribute website and a moving memorial service for David with over 500 people in attendance.?
