The Scottish Government has proposed a new National Park in Galloway and we have been asked to investigate that proposal. ?? We are listening to opinions, meeting with local groups and organisations and hosting an online information hub so that you can explore the facts for yourself and be part of the conversation: https://orlo.uk/F08ws ?? We'll be posting an information leaflet through every door in the bid's proposed area, and hosting drop-in surgeries and public meetings in the coming weeks and months. These conversations and comments will help us shape the formal consultation. ?? Then there will be a formal statutory public consultation in November, in which we will invite everyone to contribute their thoughts on the key questions posed, to help Scottish Government decide: ? if the proposal should be given National Park status ? if so, what geographical area it should include ? what form its governance should take (e.g. number of board members) ?and what powers it should have (e.g. planning, access) ? its likely structure and operation.
