Enhancing Budget Efficiency: The Ministry of Finance's Directive for Ministries and Agencies (K/L) The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with establishing the efficiency levels for each ministry and agency (K/L) based on Presidential Instruction (Inpres) 1/2025. It is stipulated that K/L are required to implement efficiency measures on specific budget items, excluding those related to personnel expenditures and social assistance (bansos). In terms of the mechanism, the Ministry of Finance will request each K/L to identify their planned efficiency measures, which will then be compiled into proposals to be submitted to the House of Representatives (DPR). The deadline for submitting these proposals to the Directorate General of Budget is set for February 14, 2025. Should any K/L fail to meet this deadline, the Directorate General of Budget will independently include the necessary adjustments.

Idiotopedia Lite: Another Policy? Ref.https://https://lnkd.in/gdQXPY3U Yes, it's another policy made by the government by trying things out and seeing what works and what doesn't. Now, another cut of "Tapera" employees' pay by 2.5%-3% has a lot of people wondering. Then, let me toss out what is on my mind: 1. Does this really seem like the best way to spend money on affordable housing? A lot of regulations that were meant to be helpful have backfired. Remember when prices were capped on everyday items a few years ago? It led to shortages! 2. Is this "ferreting" out of cash really a good idea? It sounds more like fancy office jargon than a promise that workers will actually get paid. 3. The government loves to cover businesses in rules as if they're confetti. BP Tapera is expecting millions of workers to sign up by 2027. Well, give them a break! This will make it very hard for businesses to comply with this policy. Also, let's not forget what the news and media have been doing. Instead of regurgitating news releases, they should be analyzing how it might affect workers' disposable income. I wonder: What about people who really need government assistance with housing? Some people might not think this 3% cut is significant, but for low-income workers, it could mean the difference between eating and not eating. What's the answer? To make housing more affordable, we need more than a single solution, not just a deduction that makes things harder for businesses and workers. I believe now is the time for an open dialogue that considers the long-term effects, not just another policy that is implemented with hopes and prayers. Anyway, my final comment on this article: This whole story illustrates how poorly conceived policies can lead to a vicious cycle. It starts with a seemingly straightforward objective but ends up complicating matters for both businesses and workers. People in parliament, who are supposed to represent us, can get caught in this web if they prioritize appearances over genuine communication with their constituents. We need to break out of this cycle of hasty decisions and excessive bureaucracy. Let's hold our officials accountable and demand that policies are carefully considered and not implemented by wasting our time and money on trial and error. Here's another policy that feels very similar to the first one: the "vicious cycle." Any other thoughts?

Maybe this should be called the 'Inconvenient Truth'. What is Indonesia's real position on local content? From where I am looking it is something that business leaders and politicians discuss constantly at events, usually after the National Anthem, and then it is swept under the carpet again. I create 150 jobs for locals and have guys in my office counting my laptops and aircon units as they were not built here......sigh......I can't do this on my own guys. The inconvenient truth is, even when a local alternative, the companies and government will often choose much more expensive foreign software? why? well it creates jobs as not ready for the Indonesian market and sadly someone is usually paid...That's just an inconvenient truth, but not a surprise truth.....Everyone knows it and no one cares... Here a serious law can be changed and if suits peoples purposes, they are ok with it.....No one speaks out on this or the total contradiction that I see every single day making proprietary software in Indonesia. People say I am outspoken, but I just trying to affect change and help Indonesia....sometimes you wonder why you bother...even staff who love to talk the local story will move to a foreign company for a small pay rise. I don't know what is really wanted in Indonesia? One thing is for sure, actions and words are a million miles apart. Maybe it should be called 'Spitting Truths'.

Because the success of Nusantara will not help him get re-elected again. Everyone knows Jokowi was popular. And for Prabowo to win, he needed the supporters of Jokowi to vote for him. That was why he aligned with Jokowi’s plan on moving the capital to Nusantara. To show that he is aligned with Jokowi. But now that he has won, is this project still important for him? Probably not. Java, where JKT is located, still has the largest Indonesian population throughout the country. It makes sense to spend a large part of the state budget on Java to ensure Prabowo’s popularity for another term. Java is also where most of the businesses take place, especially JKT. And developments in JKT, especially PIK and PIK2, make JKT a more interesting place for foreign investors to invest in. And Prabowo would be smart to stay close to JKT where the business and money are. Because at the end of the day, Indonesia is still such that money and lobbies still play an important part in determining the success of a politician when it comes to elections! Prabowo's set to become president, so why are foreign investors still wary of Indonesia's new capital Nusantara?
