Nurses today are true heroes, changing and often saving lives under trying circumstances. Yet too many of us currently consider staff nursing a hopelessly dismal scenario to be endured and/or escaped as quickly as possible. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Nurses work lives can be much improved. I know, because I’ve done it. I have an unusual background for a nurse: I earnrd a Bachelor’s Degree at Cornell, dropped out of Harvard Medical School and have an MSN. I’ve been an inpatient Psych Nurse for over 20 years and love it more each day. Sure, there’s the usual hospital nonsense but I’ve steadily educated and trained myself to quickly build rapport and cooperation. My patients and I like and trust each other far more than is typical these days, and we get stuff done very efficiently. That means quick, easy and effective. The same skills help build strong working relationships with doctors, bosses… any human beings. People are people! I’m currently looking into helping others learn how to make their work more pleasant, efficient and easier the same ways I’ve done. The payoffs far exceed the investment in time and effort. I’ll keep folks posted. #NursePower #nurses #power #people #skills #empowerment #growth #learn #work #etc

This statement is really hitting: That being a nurse is not about what you wear but living the real essence of Nursing which is holistic approach. Work as an "Advocate" of patient and let your patient know that there life worth for us. As an "Educator" ,educating oneself, your team and the patient. As "Leader" leading your team. As "Counselor" alleviating the suffering of the one in need. As "Researcher" ruling out the hidden secrets of health. Act as "Manager" in managing the difficult task and creating an environment of health care system that initiate proper health care delivery. As "Care giver" providing best possible care to your client.

“You don’t look like a nurse!” This is a very common comment that I hear whenever I travel for work and tell people that I am a nurse helping other nurses transition to the United States. When I ask them what a "typical nurse" looks like, they often mention scrubs and stethoscopes around the neck. The fact of the matter is that there is more to nursing than just scrubs, stethoscopes, and the bedside. Thousands of nurses do not necessarily wear scrubs or work directly with patients at the bedside. Yet, they still create a massive impact on patients, nurses and the nursing profession through leadership, education, research, advocacy, policy, and so much more. Being a nurse is not defined by what you wear but by living the real essence of nursing: caring for and helping others. I am and will always be proud to identify and call myself a nurse. #Nursing #NurseEducator #HealthcareLeadership #NurseAdvocacy #ProudNurse #NursesOnLinkedin #NursingBeyondTheBedside

The nursing profession faces a critical point right now. One million registered nurses in the U.S. are over 50, meaning one-third of the workforce could reach retirement age within the next 10 to 15 years. In 2023, U.S. nursing schools turned away over 65,000 qualified applications. The primary problem continues to be insufficient clinical placement sites. Educational institutions need to invest in building capacity to educate and train more nurses. In 2024, hospitals in the United States needed an average of 86 days to recruit a registered nurse (RN). #nursing #healthcare

SOCIETY IS COLLAPSING, AND THE NURSING PROFESSION IS TAKING IT VERY HARD!!! * The number of RNs in the workforce decreased by over 100,000 from 2020 to 2021, the largest deficit in 40 years. * 610,388 RNs reported an intent to leave the workforce by 2027, including nearly 200,000 under 40. * As of the latest data, there are approximately 3 million registered nurses in the United States. By 2030, there will be a shortage of over 1 million registered nurses in the U.S. "Society is collapsing and people are starting to recognize that the reason they feel like they're mentally ill is that they're living in a system that's not designed to suit the human spirit." ~Russell Brand #BedsideReport ---12/19/2024 * 38% of nurses plan to leave the profession in 2025. #nonursenocare * As many as 80% of all healthcare workers plan to do the same by 2028. #exitstrategy * We've gotten to a point where almost a majority of all nurse graduates leave the profession by the 2 year mark. #readthatagain We need to take a sober look at our profession! We are on the precipice of the collapse of the American Healthcare System. This house of cards is falling! #discovery ~Matt Harless "Surviving what's coming is well beyond a simple punch list of action steps. Surviving what's coming has to do with knowledge and mindset. Unless you have those two essentials, any punch list of action steps will never be acted upon." ~Jason Christoff If you are going to survive what's coming, you must first recognize the power of your own mind, then you must learn to reprogram your own mind, then you must transform yourself into your strongest version -- Your Real Self!!! Who are you, really? Why are you here? What is your relationship to this world? What is your purpose? Think ??, Grow ??, Prosper ??!!! Make it a great day!!!
#BedsideReport 12/19/2024 38% of current nurses plan to leave the profession in 2025. Leaving a. void in care that temporary nurses struggle to fill. #nonursenocare As many as 80% of all healthcare workers plan to do the same by 2028. #exitstrategy So who wants to be the captain of the titanic? We’ve gotten to the point where almost a majority of all nurse graduates leave the profession by the 2 year mark. #readthatagain We need to take a sober look at our profession! We are on the precipice of the collapse the American Healthcare system. This house of cards is falling! #discovery What can be done to save it? Maybe a resurgence in systems thinking! A revolution of thoughts and actions has the potential to bring back the profession of caring. #distillation But the quality metrics need to include more that profit and losses. We need systems that value nursing satisfaction, physician engagement and quality patient supports. Once that shift begins, over 1 million nurses, with current nursing licenses might return to bedside care and then start filling leadership positions once more. #80/20rule Until then, this culture of no nurse no care will only grow! #nurse #nurses #nursesonlinkedin #leadership #quality #system #nursingstudents #newgrads David Dibble I am internalizing all the data you shared with me. Angie Gray I hope you look at this your opinion matters to me! Emily K I was right! The force that needs to be added to disappative systems is love! Our energy is what the world needs!
