Construction HGVs are grossly disproportionate in cyclist and pedestrian deaths causing 4 times more fatalities off-site than there are total deaths on-site. ?? Excited to share insights from the recent seminar organized by Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) focusing on the Building Safety Act 2022 and its implications for our projects! ??? ??? As construction project managers, staying informed about regulatory changes is crucial. The seminar, chaired by Mark Thomas from Thomas Sands Consulting Ltd and presented by Ed Wilson from Andrew Goddard Associates Ltd, shed light on how the Building Safety Act will impact our projects. From going through the key roles and responsibilities to highlighting critical timeframes and potential risks, it was an eye-opening session. ?? ?? Here are some key takeaways : 1?? Understanding the scope and requirements of the Building Safety Act. Read Read Read. Attend seminars and webinars. Surprising how many industry professionals haven't even heard of it, nevermind understanding what it actually means. 2?? Implementing effective strategies within your business (be it Landlord, Developer, Designer or Contractor) to stay in line with new legislation within the whole project/building lifecycle. From appointing competent teams to fostering collaboration and communication, and allowing sufficient timeframes, we can streamline the process. ??
