Cohere, a generative AI startup co-founded by ex-Google researchers, has raised $500 million from investors including Cisco, AMD, and Fujitsu, valuing the company at $5.5 billion. This funding round also saw participation from PSP Investments and #EDC, doubling Cohere’s valuation since June 2023 and bringing its total funds raised to $970 million. Cohere also runs a nonprofit research lab and offers cost-effective open models like Command R+.
