Today, we join the global community in celebrating the ongoing efforts of individuals, businesses, and organizations worldwide who are committed to recycling and promoting a circular economy. From reducing waste in our landfills to conserving valuable resources, recycling plays a vital role in building a sustainable future for all. This year’s theme for Global Recycling Day is #RecyclingHeroes. The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund’s (CBF) Nature Based Economies Program provides a sustainable financing mechanism for waste management initiatives in the Caribbean region via the Advancing the Circular Economy (ACE) Facility. The Facility will provide grants to eligible institutions such as non-governmental organizations, academia, public and private sector entities, and community-based organizations, among others, through a call for proposals mechanism to implement projects in the Caribbean region that apply practical circular economy principles to prevent and avoid waste from entering the marine environment. Together, we can make a difference by embracing the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle and by championing innovative solutions for a cleaner, greener world. Happy Global Recycling Day 2024!
