I underscored the need for a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity with respect to the space, spanning all the four segments: Space, Link, Ground, and User. The long-awaited national cybersecurity strategy must have a specific section on space. Also, space sector must be included as a critical information infrastructure. There’s a need to adopt #AI and automation. This year's Polish International #Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO) was special for us. Our partner Wojskowy Instytut ??czno?ci im. prof. J. Groszkowskiego showcased the project called #5gSTAR focused on developing advanced methods and techniques for detecting and mitigating attacks on access infrastructure and 5G applications. We've been involved in the R&D since the beginning, partnering also with Poznan University of Technology and Rimedo Labs and backed by the National Center for Research and Development. Key components of the 5gSTAR system include: ? Proprietary detectors for industrial #SCADA, networks, IIoT and 5G access networks ? Supplementary detectors ? Monitoring system Our team was involved mostly in the development of a monitoring system based on the Elastic Stack, supplemented with proprietary mitigation instruction extensions developed based on TTP (Tactics, Techniques, Procedures) models from MITRE FiGHT and ATT&CK. ?? In today's era of connected technology, mission critical extends beyond traditional sectors to include space vehicles, satellites, aircraft, connected vehicles, public utilities, medical devices, and communications networks. The rapid growth of cyber-physical systems underscores the need for heightened security measures in these areas. While the DHS Critical Infrastructure Sectors provide a framework, the pace of technological advancement often outstrips regulatory classifications. I'm curious to hear from peers about industries and technologies they believe are missing from this framework or are overlooked as 'mission critical' in our cybersecurity efforts.
