Anticipate a gradual 6% annual decline in drilling activity, paving the way for a strategic evolution in the industry through 2030. By 2025, envision a drilling canvas adorned with approximately 960 wells. Delve deeper, and the dichotomy between onshore (180 wells, 19%) and offshore (780 wells, 81%) activities becomes evident. However, hold your breath as we forecast a shift in this landscape. At the current trajectory, the well count is projected to gracefully descend to 715 wells – a breakdown of 130 offshore (18%) and 585 onshore (82%) wells. ? Deltic Energy PLC (AIM:DELT) earlier this week shared details of a substantial gas discovery at its Selene prospect in the southern North Sea. Chief executive Andrew Nunn outlined how drilling results exceeded initial expectations, particularly in terms of the reservoir’s porosity and permeability. This discovery, operated by Shell and supported by Dana as a farm-in partner, is set to become one of the largest finds in the area, with estimated P50 recoverable resources of 131 billion cubic feet.
