November 13th is World Kindness Day, a perfect reminder of how powerful even the smallest acts of kindness can be! This day, celebrated globally, encourages us to make kindness a habit – because our world could always use a bit more love. Whether it’s holding the door open, offering a heartfelt compliment, or simply smiling at someone, kindness is easy to share and often costs nothing. ?? One fun way to celebrate is with Random Acts of Kindness (RAKs)! These surprise gestures, like paying for someone’s coffee or leaving a positive note, add a spark of joy to people’s lives. RAKs are like kindness “gifts” that can inspire others to pay it forward, creating a ripple effect that brightens everyone’s day. And kindness benefits the giver, too – studies show it boosts our own mood and sense of connection. This World Kindness Day, let’s spread joy wherever we go! Try a RAK, send a thank-you note, or volunteer a bit of time. ?? On November 13th, let’s show the world that kindness isn’t just for a day; it’s a lifestyle. Because when we’re kind, everyone wins! ?? Please share your ideas below.?? I am listening! *** ????, ??'?? Roz ??? ? Want more information like this!. Talking diversity with Shaheen . this morning has got my brain absolutely buzzing! I mean its a HUGE topic! After all, diversity is so, umm, diverse ?? And the more I get into my mahi with a central value of building inclusive and equitable experiences, the more diverse and complex it becomes ?? Current examples: ?? Working across cultures with different worldviews, values, reference points and lived experiences. ?? Facilitating workshops where multiple organisations with completely different kaupapa, are working consecutively on planning. ?? Co-design with Rainbow communities and how language is used to value and respect, or reinforce exclusion and harm. ???? Designing activities that are inclusive of different learning styles, neurodiversity, physical and emotional needs. A BIG challenge is recognizing my own inherent bias, and finding ways to challenge my perceptions and what I consider 'norms.' It's a life-long journey of unlearning, learning, failing and learning again! And the layers! Experiences and conversations that let me know I have another one to unpeel! It's a tough road, but one that's invaluable to take if I want to live to my values! Very grateful for those who share generously from their experiences ?? My two cents worth on what's helped me so far? To be curious, listen, expose myself to discomfort, notice, seek knowledge, ask questions, read, study, and continuously challenge myself on my beliefs, where they come from, and how it influences me on how I see others. #Diversity #inclusion #facilitation #wovencollaboration #codesign

Putting JEDI at the heart of the #BCorpFestivalUK agenda ?? Thankyou Cynthia V Davis CBE for this 5 minute speed speech on #JEDI #Inclusion at Day 2 of #LouderThanWords ?? Some great reflections and provocations: 1?? The role of fear in slowing down work in JEDI 2?? This is not additional work that you have to do. It’s work that all of us have a part to play in 3?? Give people the space and ability to be themselves and do great work 4?? Don’t be afraid to ask. There are a lot of resources out there 5?? Focus on impact, on where you want to get to. It’s a journey. There’s no magic wand. What are the steps to get to where you need to be? 6?? We need intentional action for a more inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves and thrive 7?? This starts with us. We have to be the change and lead the change. #BCorps must lead by example And the final call to action…..… Make JEDI part of your DNA ?? Happy World Kindness Day! ???? Kindness shines brightest when it includes everyone. Today, let’s celebrate diversity by spreading kindness that embraces all backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives. True kindness is inclusive—it respects, values, and uplifts everyone. Here are a few ways to spread inclusive kindness: 1. Be a good listener. Make space for different voices and experiences; everyone’s story matters. 2. Use inclusive language. Small changes, like using people’s pronouns, go a long way in showing respect. 3. Celebrate differences. Encourage and support each person’s unique talents, interests, and identity. 4. Lend a helping hand. Whether it’s sharing resources, offering support, or simply being there, kindness bridges gaps. Kindness that includes everyone makes the world brighter for us all. Let’s make inclusivity a part of our everyday kindness, today and always! ???? Charles Hooper :)

How do you evaluate connectedness to culture? Recognizing and celebrating identity is different than buzz-wording to appear inclusive... 4 Ways I've worked to deepen my understanding of "cultural connection": 1. Practise self-awareness... since feeling connected requires you to be in-tune with your feelings - and alert to how your ENTIRE being responds to energy you encounter. 2. Listen actively to Indigenous voices... personal stories, teachings, and experiences shared by Indigenous individuals is the most AUTHENTIC form of education. 3. Participate in cross-cultural exchanges... because everyone is Indigenous from somewhere! Joining in on cultural events and ceremonies connects the HUMAN race. 4. Prioritize holistic well-being in ALL areas of life... cultural identity can't be left at the door. It's a great strength to bring your whole self to work and it's time we start celebrating passion for our rich, vibrant, and diverse cultural identities... SHARE this post if you agree ?? What is your understanding of what "cultural identity" means? and do you use any of these 4 ways to strengthen your connection? Please share in the comments ?? , Miigwetch

??? World Kindness Day – A Beautiful Reminder! ??? I had the privilege of attending a heartfelt event organized by Komal Attlee Ma’am and the NSS Wing of CGC Jhanjeri in celebration of World Kindness Day. ?? Receiving a chit from the “Smile Box” was a delightful moment. Mine read, “My Heart is Filled with Joy,” which truly resonated with me. It reminded me that joy comes from within and that we have a choice in how we face life’s ups and downs. ?? When we approach each moment with happiness rather than regret or sadness, we not only bring calm to ourselves but also gain the clarity to tackle challenges effectively. ?? Here are a few reflections from the day: - Choose Joy: Happiness is a choice; it empowers us to face any situation with peace. - Be Kind to Yourself and Others: Acts of kindness, no matter how small, create a ripple of positivity. ?? - Embrace Positivity: A joyful heart keeps us grounded, resilient, and better equipped to solve problems. ?? Let’s make kindness not just a one-day celebration but a daily habit. ?? #WorldKindnessDay #JoyfulHeart #SpreadKindness #NSS #CGCJhanjeri #BeKindAlways #ChooseHappiness
