A new study by Agora Energiewende in collaboration with Qazaq Green Association outlines key building blocks to ensure the country’s transition from coal to #renewableenergy is both economically sustainable and socially just. These include: ?? Diversifying regional and national economies with a focus on renewables ?? Engaging stakeholders to build strong social and political support ?? Banning new coal plants and adopting a decommissioning plan with clear timelines for existing ones ?? Targeting support to coal regions, including through reskilling and entrepreneurship programmes ???
