ABIA and the food industry sector announced an investment of R$120 billion by 2026 for new factories, expansion of existing units, research, development, and innovation. The minister highlighted that these investments are driven by the growth of the sector and the need to renew machinery and equipment to reduce costs and increase productivity, competitiveness, decarbonization, and energy efficiency. Of the total, R$75 billion will be allocated to the expansion and modernization of plants and the construction of new units throughout Brazil. The remaining R$45 billion will be allocated to research and development.
