Community Development is an essential praxis to generate community capacity, capability, and competency (3C) to reach the future ready for the challenges we'll all feel locally as global transformations now reach closer to home than ever before thanks to modern technologies. Understanding and investing in the best practices of building local resiliency and independence from larger systems, while not isolating from the benefits of global connections through commerce and knowledge exchanges, is an important perspective to gain. CDS exists to help us where we live, work, play, and pray. With Place-based, Community-centric, Civic-action inspired programs, we can grow our social capital and increase our social cohesion so that we may experience harmonious happy virtuous American lives in pursuit of our dreams. Our future generations need us to give them stake in the game of life we're playing so that they may imprint upon society their needs as we transition across time from the past to the future. Our unsaid cultural duty is to gracefully transfer the endowment of the United States to posterity. Community Development praxis is a prime way we can do that, so let's get busy and get it going to build resiliency in our communities, and grit in our kids. Involve them. Listen to their dreams. Enable the better angels and ideas for their prosperity! The time is now, America. The time is now.

The ADTA Annual Conference Committee wants to be transparent with you regarding how conference costs are calculated and how to keep them as LOW as possible. This is video one from Treasurer, Lauren E. Peterson, on why we are asking you to stay at the hotel. As we know, #DanceMovementTherapy requires LOTS of SPACE to explore movement, especially in a conference setting, and part of how we can pay for the larger conference rooms is by having you all stay at the hotel. -The hotel room blocks offset the cost of the large rooms we need, otherwise we would have to charge MORE for the conference.
