Across the MENA region, budget transparency remains a challenge. While some countries have some stability in their public financial transparency, there’s still room for improvement. Our Open Budget Survey 2023 shows over half of key budget documents are not publicly available while 30% of these documents are either restricted to internal use or published too late to be useful.
