Stop Overanalyzing Your Competitors In the world of SEO, it’s easy to get caught up in what the competition is doing. We become so obsessed with their strategies that we end up making assumptions about things they might not even be doing intentionally. Often, there's no clear evidence that what they’re doing is even driving their success. Yet, we still link their wins to certain tactics and rush to replicate them. But here's the thing: not everything should be based on what your competitors are doing (or not doing). Sometimes, your own unique approach can be more valuable - especially if you focus on the user journey and understanding what drives people to buy from you. I was reminded of this recently at the gym. I saw a guy in great shape doing a very complicated workout that required a lot of setup. His form even looked a bit uncomfortable. Naturally, some people assumed that this workout was the secret to his physique and started copying it. After bumping into each other a few times, I asked him about that workout. He said he didn’t do it anymore because it was uncomfortable and time-consuming. It didn’t contribute to his progress at all. Instead, he had built his physique with basic exercises, consistency, and years of focusing on weak areas. Interestingly, he confessed that he started doing that complicated workout after seeing someone in even better shape performing it. Even more interesting, many of those who saw him doing that workout still continue to do it, thinking it's the secret to achieving similar results. The reality is, they’re investing time and effort into something that wasn’t even beneficial for him in the first place. The same principle applies to SEO: Don’t just replicate everything your competition does.
