Hello, LinkedIn people, Has anyone come across an open, peer-reviewed model that people can use to sanity check claims like this when people talk about the local economic or environmentalimpact of new digital infrastructure being deployed? The current situation seems to be people in industry making wild claims and others making accusations of greenwash. These discussions tend to create more heat than light. The closest I’ve seen are models which might help people understand the capacity of the grid for a new data centre and likely costs, using open source, peer reviewed software like PyPSA meets Earth , but that’s not the same thing, and these decisions result in significant amounts of public and private capital being allocated.

The construction of data centers are popping up more and more throughout the U.S. ?? which is great for the industry overall, but not so great for the builders who require extremely specialized laborers for these projects. “I know what a challenge it is for us to keep up with the growth and how challenging it has been to find qualified people to work in these facilities. Well, that's what is being proposed on a new Data Centre Campus, due to be built within the next 3 years, in North Lincolnshire. "The site would look to include a ‘horticultural glass house’ heated by the data center."
