Just completed Insilico Medicine's course on Disease Modeling and Target Discovery. Key takeaways for me include: the transformative role of AI and machine learning in drug discovery, advancements in protein structure modeling, and novel approaches to identifying disease targets. I got to try my hands on Insilico Medicine's PandaOmics platform, a remarkable AI-driven tool for drug target discovery. My understanding of utilizing AI and Omics datasets has greatly enhanced my ability to approach drug discovery in a more informed and strategic manner, truly embodying the shift from AI hype to practical application in the field. This knowledge is crucial for strategic decision-making in biopharma, allowing for more data-driven and efficient approaches. Excited to integrate these insights into my work in the evolving landscape of biopharma strategy. This is a massive advancement in the field of biology prediction thanks to Google DeepMind launch of AlphaFold 3, an enhanced biological prediction tool that can model a broader range of biological life. This has the potential to transform drug discovery and scientific research. “Biology is a dynamic system,” DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis told reporters on a call. “Properties of biology emerge through the interactions between different molecules in the cell, and you can think about AlphaFold 3 as our first big sort of step toward [modeling] that.” This version of AlphaFold extends its capabilities to DNA, RNA, and key drug discovery molecules like ligands, providing a deeper understanding of molecular interactions. #ai #unexpectedconvergentconsequences #biology #aihealthcare

Major AlphaFold upgrade A new version of DeepMind’s AlphaFold tool gives scientists the ability to predict protein structures during interactions with other molecules.
