Thank you to everyone who participated in making our Field Demo Day a success this week! Our tech showed up too - plants were talking to us by changing color. We saw some mature disease and some immature infections that were only revealed by purple color. Although it's too early to see symptoms of stem diseases, our plants revealed pathogens starting to colonize and weaken stems too. A panel of experts, including Dave Chance from C&H Farm, Kyle Long from Taranis, and Ryan Ekland from Keystone Cooperative, helped us discuss why Insignum's tech will provide significant value to their operations. Thank you for sharing! We had a great crowd out to Dulls Tree Farm, thank you Kerry and Tom Dull!

???It was exciting to participate in the discussion about the science of fungi and fungi-based products with experts from diverse backgrounds ?? Here are my key takeaways of the discussion: ???Exciting novel alternatives offer promising avenues to move towards healthier and more sustainable diets. ???Education is crucial to avoid myths and fallacies surrounding new foods, ingredients and processing methods. ???We need more interdisciplinary round tables at global/national/regional levels to prevent unintended consequences. Huge thanks to the The Nutrition Society and the organising team! I am really looking forward to further discussions with my fellow panellists and experts from various fields in the future! #Fungi #NutritionScience #Sustainability #HealthyEating #InterdisciplinaryApproach?

Thank you to John Brameld, Dr Emma Derbyshire (Director), Paul Thomas Benjamin Wall, Wendy Hall, Ursula ARENS, Andrea Glenn, PhD RD, Sarah E. Nájera Espinosa, Tom Hill, Jenny Paxman, Ciaran Forde & Pauline Scheelbeek for being fantastic speakers and spectacular panelists in today's The Nutrition Society member led meeting on the 'Differentiation of fungi-derived proteins' ?? A fascinating discussion, debating the role of fungi proteins in health and sustainability. As many questions were asked as answered! And a leaning towards a consensus on the need to differentiate animal and non-animal foods, particularly for consumer communication, rather than calling out fungi specifically. Thanks to Sara Stanner & Dr Rachel Allen for observing. Thanks to my my superb co-organisers Louise Durrant PhD RD and Emma Derbyshire. It's been great fun pulling together the event and listening in on the debate! And last, but by no means least, a huge thank you to super Andrea Onipede for all of your hard work behind the scenes - without you we wouldn't have been able to do this!

Access to quality and healthy food is vital towards achieving the second SDG among others. I am happy to have been part of the attendees at the webinar on Safeguarding food and feed: Determination of mycotoxins according to EU regulations commission (EC) No 1881/2006 (version of 25.5.2023) by Separation Science and SCIEX. I now understand better matters method development for mycotoxin analysis, quantitation of mycotoxins in typically sampled matrices with low matrix effects and the sensitivity, robustness, and accuracy of the SCIEX 7500 system. The skills are in tandem with creating sustainable economies that ensure intergenerational equity for both the present and future generations.
