Under the new Texas law, gas-powered, non-commercial vehicles between 2 and 24 model years old will no longer be required to have a safety inspection as part of the registration renewal process. However, most North Texas counties still require emissions testing to ensure that cars aren't emitting more pollutants than the allowed amount. ??Once your vehicle passes the emissions test, you can renew the registration. ??A $7.50 inspection program replacement fee will be added to the registration fee. ??Once you receive your new registration sticker, replace the old one. ??Electric vehicles, diesel-powered vehicles and motorcycles will not have to go through emissions testing ??Commercial vehicles in Texas are still required to pass a safety inspection.

That new vehicle's crack in the windshield might result in a favorable judgment. In Hogan v. Volkswagen Grp. of Am., Inc., No. A-0396-23, 2024 WL 5082010 (N.J. Super. Ct. App. Div. Dec. 12, 2024), the New Jersey Appellate Division analyzed the Garden State's Lemon Law and reversed a trial court's grant of summary judgment for the vehicle's manufacturer. The court ruled that a jury could rationally conclude that the crack in the front windshield was a substantial impairment and that the manufacturer's 10-month delay in repairing the windshield was unreasonable. #WeWriterSoYouWin #CaselawUpdate #FriYAY
