Coaching helps to get rid of your #blindspots . Why we have blindspot Because of our #conditioning Because of our #culture Because of our lack of #selfawareness Because of our #assumptions and cognitive bias How does it affect us in life ? If we are in comfort zone and not #challenging the roots of these blindspots, and not giving ourselves an #opportunity to grow we remain blinded to these spots and it: -???????Impacts Decision making- #cognitive information bias may lead one to favor information that supports ones preferences, can result in lack of confidence and lack of team engagement -???????Impacts Interpersonal Relationships- Individuals may be unaware of how their own behaviors or #communication style are perceived by others, leading to misunderstandings -???????Effects Inclusivity- blindspots on cultural differences or unconscious biases can hinder inclusive #teamwork -???????Effects Leadership Effectiveness: Having a blindspot may impede the ability to understand and respond to the needs and perspectives of others, resulting in loss of trust and repo -???????Effects Innovation and Creativity: Limits #exposure to diverse ideas, perspectives, and approaches and??may lack ability to adapt to changing circumstances or identify innovative solutions to complex problems. How can one overcome it? By.. Embracing #vulnerability Challenging #assumptions Continuous #learning Cultivaing selfawareness By actively uncovering and addressing blindspots, individuals can unlock their full potential and enhance their #performance in both personal and professional realms. Welcome to day 2 of my week of transformational development? Day 2 - Why is transformational development important? ??Back in the 1990s William Bridges defined the difference between change and transition – stating situational change needs psychological transition to be successful. Without the psychological transition organisations can make changes but employees don’t buy-into or truly implement them. ??Transformations however are more impactful. Beyond psychological transformation they also involve intellectual, social, emotional, moral and even spiritual development (see yesterday’s post for more details).? ??Transformational development is required if leaders want to achieve: ???Increased confidence, celebrating your strengths ???Improved ability to navigate and succeed in our environments of constant change ???Improved ability to innovate and find creative solutions?? ???Enhanced leadership skills including emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, networking and stakeholder management ???Ability to find and commit to a personal purpose, leading to improved impact ???Increased ability to create and connect to strategy including aligned decision-making and action The picture attached is of a hotel where I meet CEO’s for transformational coaching – the location for this type of development can be essential. Having the view of the sea in itself is inspirational.? ?Have you achieved transformation – if so what did it help you do? ?What transformational goals do you still have for yourself? Check out my posts for the rest of the week? Day 1 - What is transformational development? Day 2 - Why is transformational development important? Day 3 - Examples of transformational development? Day 4 - Coaching for transformation Day 5 - Inspiration for transformational journeys?

?? Reintroducing Myself ?? In honor of International Coaching Week, I'm taking a moment to reintroduce myself. I'm Rita Ramakrishnan, a leadership and team effectiveness coach with a passion for helping individuals align their core principles with their actions in both work and life. Splitting my time between Toronto, New York, and (hopefully soon!) the Bay Area, I specialize in working with leaders at growth-stage startups (series B+) and financial services organizations. What sets my practice apart is both my experience supporting neurodivergent leaders — a community I proudly identify with myself – as well as committing 20% of my time to pro-bono clients that include veterans and others for whom coaching is typically inaccessible. As a certified team coach, I also offer assessments, coaching, and facilitation services to help companies drive greater alignment and achieve breakthrough results. Beyond coaching, I offer fractional Chief People Officer services to startups and small businesses seeking strategic people leadership, as well as consulting services in the areas of internal communications, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness. Outside of my professional endeavors, I'm an avid reader (29 books and counting this year!) and currently pursuing a master's degree at Penn focused on leadership and team dynamics. I'm also a vocal mental health advocate and dedicate time to being a dog mom and fostering rescue pups (including little Pierogi in my pic). My current areas of curiosity and research include distributed team dynamics, applied neuroscience, and psychedelic-assisted coaching. If you have insights or recommended readings in any of these areas, or would like to explore how we can collaborate, I'd love to connect! #Coaching #LeadershipDevelopment #Neurodiversity #TeamEffectiveness #EmployeeEngagement #InternalCommunications #PeopleLeadership

Facilitating a peer-to-peer group? Drive discussion and engagement with these tips from the Forbes Coaches Council. According to DDI | Development Dimensions International's Matt Paese, it is critical to make common goals explicit. "Peers bring unique perspectives, experiences, challenges and objectives," he shared. "The varying points of view can be useful for others to learn. However, if common goals are not made explicit, dialogue may overemphasize one person’s objectives while inadvertently overlooking others." #CoachingTips #LeadershipDevelopment

In the Discover phase of mentoring, it’s all about empowering mentees to take ownership of their development. This isn’t about me handing over a one-size-fits-all solution. It’s about working together to co-create strategies that truly resonate with them, using strengths profiling and 360-degree reviews to uncover key insights. This partnership is important because it gives them a sense of agency, and that’s where empowerment comes from. But here’s a question, do you ever find mentees reluctant to experiment with new ideas or approaches? It’s common for the fear of failure to sneak in during this phase. I see it often, stepping out of their comfort zone can feel incredibly risky. So, how do we encourage people to take that leap? I believe it comes down to creating a safe space for them to try, fail, and learn without judgment. Growth happens when they realise that experimenting with new strategies is about progress, not perfection. How do you help managers embrace this mindset, creating a safe, engaged and resilient environment for their teams? Peace and love ???? David #Mentoring #Management #HR #FM #psychologicalsafety

79% of people are disengaged from their job. That number is TOO high! with only 21% of global employees are fully engaged at work (Gallup, 2022), and 43% of daily activities are performed unconsciously (Journal of Experimental Psychology), it's clear that disengagement is a major issue. But does it have to be for your team? Join me for a free webinar this Friday (July 19th) from 1-2 pm ET to discover how our REVEL COACH leaders reignite purpose and connections within teams through Assessments, Masterminds, and Coaching. Don't miss out on the insights that can transform your workplace. Register here: https://lnkd.in/euNUPBeP
